Where do you keep your cell phone overnight?

Just a topic of conversation...

I keep my phone downstairs, so if I get emails or texts in the middle of the night, I don't hear them. If it's a real emergency, someone will call my landline.

Where do you keep your cell phone overnight?

On my nightstand but I don't get alerts for anything. The only time it makes sound is if it rings and people who know me know not to call me late unless it's an emergency.

On my night stand. We use our phones as our alarms. Also our landline is 2 floors down from the bedrooms so I likely won't hear it

On my nightstand, but I use an alarm clock, not my phone. I don't hear any notifications when I'm sleeping. I check my phone as soon as I wake up.

On my nightstand, it's also my alarm clock.
The phone is on vibrate so it will not ring.
Very rarely will I get a text or call in the middle of the night. All other alerts - FB, e-mail, have been turned off.

But that said my phone is generally on silent I detest all little dings and alarms. Everyone who knows me that calling me at all is generally useless. I rarely ever answer. So if you call me in the middle of the night there had better be some very urgent matter.

Of course, should you call I generally answer before the second ring because I also appreciate anyone call me knows that rule. I am FULLY awake at the sound of my phone ring. I'm 'that' friend. Ever need a ride at 2am? Got stuck at the airport at 4am for some odd reason in San Antonio (it's happened)? I'm your lady. Doesn't matter if I haven't spoken to you in a decade, I'll be there to pick you up. One Kid at the ER all night and now your other one has to be at school? Can I go to your house wake them up and get them ready and drop them off on the other side of town??? PFFT sweetie that's what Nav is for.. I GOT YOU.

When I'm on-call - on my nightstand. When I'm not on-call, in the living room.

On my nightstand. I use it as am alarm clock. I have my settings set to do not disturb between 9:30-5:30 so no alerts come though.

In my bedroom, but off or on silent/emergency only mode

Only sound that is set to go off is the ringer.

On my nightstand I use it as my backup/second alarm I have a regular alarm too.

For some reason 98% of the time all my alerts, texts etc will not wake me up.

We have no landline, so our phones are always right next to us. At night, they're on the nightstands.

I keep mine in the kitchen, charging. DH keeps his on his nightstand. If anyone needed to reach me in an emergency and I didn't answer, they would probably try DH

it's my alarm clock, but it's on the opposite side of the room. this forces me to get out of bed and walk that distance before i can turn it off. helps to keep me from hitting the snooze button.

Charging on the nightstand.
I charge it over night so it's fresh and ready for the day.
I don't use it as an alarm clock though.

And what started me keeping it next to me at night was the fear of a psycho killer breaking in and cutting the phone lines. This way I could call 911.

Mine is downstairs charging at night. My daughter's is in my room on silent and my husband's in on his nightstand but he is always on call so he needs it to ring if needed.

Husband needs his in case he gets paged in the middle of the night.

A few months ago we made the switch to actual, old-school alarm clocks and it's the best thing we ever did. The phones go on DND and they're still in the room, but far enough away that they're out of reach to avoid scrolling temptation. I'm sleeping so much better!

Its on my night stand charging in silent/emergency mode from 9pm - 7am. I do not use it as an alarm clock.
