Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
Just wondering if me and DH are the only people who do this, after we get home, and we settle in for the night, we put our phones on the chargers on our nightstand. and we don't take them off til the morning when we both wake up.
According to the Verizon people, the reason our batteries do not last is because you are not supposed to let it charge overnight. So its our fault they said our batteries do not last long.
Am I supposed to set my alarm clock to wake me up at 3am to take it off the charger? Me and DH are not always at our desks and are on the road alot, should we just use our car charger
just wondering what everyone does.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
Each battery only has a certain number of charges.
With my old phone, I charged it every night and pretty soon I could barely get it to last a day. After a few months, I had to constantly charge it.
With my new phone, I ONLY charge it when it has one bar left and once it says charge complete, I disconnect it.
I have had it almost two years and it still lasts 2-3 days on one charge.

My phone is always dead...I never charge it.
When I do use the charger, it's just for a couple of hours, then i'm good for a couple of days.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
I only charge it when there is no battery at all left. I use the battery to the last drop. When I charge it (which usually happens to be during the day while I'm at work) I'm able to check on the phone to see when the charge is complete.
With my old phone, I brought it into VZW to ask them why my battery wasn't lasting. They said I was overcharging the phone causing the battery to drain faster. He even showed me that the battery on my phone was bulging a little because of this.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
I used to charge my phone every day, and the battery did wear out fairly quickly.
Now I charge my phone every 3 days or so, but I still do it overnight because if my DD sees it she picks it up, plays with it and then brings it to me. She brought it to me while I was in the shower last week.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
Thanks for the responses, both me and DH's phones are Dead by the end of the day. SO that is why we charge them at night when we get home.
If we came home at night with a halfway full battery, and didnt charge overnight, then the battery would not last a full day and we both rely on that phone for work, email, and important phone calls.
eta: just checked our minutes this month, and we used just under 8000 minutes combined this month total, we may just be heavy users.

I only charge my phone when the battery gets low. DH charges his everynight. I used to also, but my batteries never lasted so with my new BB I only charge it when it needs it.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
I usually charge when I come home from work, if it needs it, and take it off the charger before bed & put it in my bag. If I forget & do it overnight, DH usually wakes up when it is done ( the screen flashes & he is a light sleeper)
I don't sleep that much anyway, so it is only charging for about 6-7 hours or so & it isn't every night.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
I also charge my phone overnight. I know it's not good for it.
I just find myself only thinking to do it at that time.. every once in a while I will randomly charge it in my car for a few min but I'm usually not in the car for long.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
no. it ruins your battery. You should only charge your battery when its low... that gives you longer battery life.
I learned this with my computer battery.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
The whole "don't overcharge your phone overnight" is silly and it's an outdated myth IMO.
All devices now have intelligent charging systems where the phone stops charging after it's fully charged.
The verizon people are saying don't charge the phone overnight, probably to pass the buck on the fact that their phones are poorly designed with lousy batteries in them.

I am pretty sure that Verizon doesn't make 'their' phones, other companies make them. THOSE phones may be lousy, but I'd hardly blame it on one company.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
i do it and will not stop doing it because i never turn my phone off and i use it for my alarm to wake up. I do not mind if the battery will not last too long since I get a new phone every two years.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
Yes, my phone will only last a day and a half without being charged. I also use it as an alarm so I can't risk it running out during the night.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?
I actually don't charge it at night, it never needs that long of a charge.
When I wake up I plug it in. by the time I am ready for work, its fully charged and I take it off.
