Where do you keep your bread?

DH grew up with the bread in the fridge.

I grew up with the bread in a bread drawer. We don't have enough room to do that, so I like to keep it on the counter, kind of hanging out in the nesting bowls.

We "argue" all the time about this and which way is the best.

Thoughts?

The microwave above our stove hasn't worked since we moved in. We have another one ont he coutner, so we use the one above the stove for bread storage. I also have a bread box. We don't go through bread real quick so it's a waste to keep it on the counter because it goes bad faster.

In the fridge. Which annoys my DH to no end because he hates cold bread Any time I've ever left it out, it grows mold and gets bad in less than a week!

i'm the only one that uses bread ( dh buys his lunch everyday) so i keep it in the fridge. i think it keeps just a little bit longer that way...

Too funny, b/c the bread thing annoys me to no end. I have my bread and english muffins in a basket on my counter. I can't find a bread box that I like and I don't think bread does well in the fridge.

I have a bread draw in one of my cabinets....Centrally located in the kitchen

American bread goes in the fridge or it will grow mold in a day.

Italian bread goes in the oven since we can't use it. . .but that is gone within a day usually.

in the fridge!! i always toast my bread anyway, so i never eat cold bread.

i feel like keeping it in the fridge keeps it fresher longer...
some weeks we go through the bread pretty fast, and other weeks we wont touch it for a while.

We don't eat it often enough to leave out, so I keep it in the freezer and defrost it as needed

We leave it out on the counter. Never even thought to put it in the fridge. I'm going to try it. Maybe my bread won't spoil so quickly?

Same here American bread goes in fridge (dh hates it cold though) but id definatly lasts ALOT longer and if any left over italian bread it goes in the oven,,,

the italian american bread is something i grew up with. My familys italian and white bread was always called american bread. Ya --- think of my surprise when i asked dh if he wanted american bread and he had no clue what i was talking about LOL

I have a bread basket where I keep my bread. DH and I both hate cold bread!

I keep mine in the fridge.

we get bakery bread... we keep it on the counter in a ziplock

I keep my husband's bread in the fridge and mine in the freezer. I don't eat bread that often but I like the organic bread with no preservatives so if I don't put it in the freezer it doesn't last long.

I keep bread in the refrigerator. Anytime I have left bread out, it gets moldy. My in laws keep their bread in a drawer.

I was keeping it in a breadbox or the counter... but now that Rob is home he stores it in the fridge. If I buy a lot than anything more than a few days worth gets frozen.
