Where do you eat?

I'm just curious, after you make a home cooked meal, where do you eat it?

Growing up, we always ate dinner at the table together. It's just me and my DH so we always eat in front of the tv in the living room on tray tables. I really hate it. I wish we could eat in our dining room but he prefers watching tv. I know when we have kids we'll eat at the table though because I feel like that was an important part of my childhood that I'd like to replicate.

Our apartment is pretty small, so there's not really a separate living room and dining area.

Our table is diagonal from the TV and we always keep the TV on for dinner... but we never actually watch it. We usually spend that time chatting! I don't even know why we keep it on... I guess for background noise

at the dinner table. We even put our 9 month old DD in her highchair when we eat and give her some cheerios or some of our dinner. We always ate as a family growing up so I want to do the same.

Unless my DS isn't feeling well or I'm not feeling well/not eating (very rare), we eat dinner at the dining room table.

At the kitchen table for the most part. In the summer mostly outside at the table. Once in a while, I'll let DH eat in front of the TV, esp. if I get home really late and we're just having sandwhiches or snacky stuff.

we have connecting living/dining room. dh eats at the coffee table watching tv. i sit in a chair at the dining table able to see the tv.

Home cooked meal - dining room table.

Leftovers - TV trays in the LR.

Takeout - 50/50.

We eat together at the dinner table in the kitchen.

In nice weather we will eat outside at the table on the deck.

Sometimes we do picnics on a blanket in the living room - or do a movie night dinner theme and set up tv trays in front of the television. A few months ago we did a game night theme and I brown bagged everyone's dinner. I hid the bags in the basement and you had to sit where you found the bag and eat there. Noah sat on top of the toy bins, Robbie was on the toy tool bench. Rob got the desk and I got the sofa. It was entertaining.

We also have done "Spy Night" and have eaten in the boys fort in the backyard.

Wherever we eat.. we do it as a family.

We have a large Island/Breakfast bar in our kitchen that we eat at typically (just DH and I).

If we have company we eat at the dining room table.

Never in front of the TV. I don't like the TV on during dinner bc it is a time for DH and I to catch up on our day....before he heads up to the attic for his workout.

We have an island in the kitchen with barstools. We usually eat there. Unless we have company, in which case we eat at the dining room table

Since I am a SAHM, DS & I eat breakfast and lunch at the kitchen table. DH joins us for dinner most nights there. If he works later than dinner time, DS & I will sit at the table and chat with DH while he eats. DS will usually eat again off his daddy's plate.

Snacks are at the table if we have a playdate, otherwise I will let DS snack in the den (crackers and such) - yougurt and anything messy is at the table.

We sometimes eat at the kitchen table and sometimes at the coffee table. It’s just the two of us and we don’t have a dining room. When we have kids we will eat together at the kitchen table always. Both my family and DH’s family always did this. This is just for dinner of course, for lunch and breakfast all bets are off!

I grew up watching tv while I ate. Either I ate alone or it was just me and my mom and she didn't really DO the whole dinner thing.

For a while we were eating dinner in front of the tv. Now, I am trying to corral us into the kitchen. Keeps the dishes in one room, keeps the coffee table clean and DH SEES the kitchen and actually puts dishes in the dishwasher. Plus, we talk.

Before DS we mostly ate in the living room watching tv. Once in a while we ate at the small table in the kitchen.
Now we eat every meal together at the dining room table. DS in his highchair, and us at the table.

Our apartment is small - the kitchen area is open to the living room area.

We eat at the counter.

We always eat together every night at the dining room table. That's always how I grew up and i will always do this.

Either at the kitchen table or in the living room in front of the tv.... I prefer eating in the kitchen.
It annoys me that DH always has to have something to occupy him while he's eating, he can't just talk to me. Either he has to read or watch tv while he eats, but I like to focus on the conversation and the food. Oh well!

Dining room table. When I was growing up I don't think we EVER ate anywhere but the kitchen table.

In warm weather we eat at the patio table

Most of the time at the table as a family. Occassionally DS & I have a movie night and we eat in the living room and watch a movie.

We eat at the kitchen table. DS sits in a booster that is pushed up to the table. DD sits in a high chair. DH and I sit in regular chairs. We do leave the tv on in the den but it has the news on.

When it was just the two of us in our apartment, we ate on our coffee table in front of the TV. Now we moved into a house and DS started eating with us so we're all at the kitchen table. We do have a small undercabinet TV in there but we dont really watch it during dinner.

Even though it's just DH and I we eat at the Dining Room table. I grew up like that and Dh likes it. He actually sets the table while I make dinner- real plates, real flatwear, real glasses, water pitcher on the table, and any condiments we might need. We use paper plates if it's takeout though. On the weekends, we will eat breakfast and lunch at the table too.
