Where Can We Donate a Car That Doesn't Run?
DH's car died and we're looking to donate it. Will an organization take a car that doesn't run? Which organization do you recommend? Thanks!

I have no idea about the charity or anything. Just always hear the absolutely NAUSEATING jingle... But I try and be polite Bc it's a charity. But wow.

The use of the word 'charity' might be generous. There have been many reports that less than 20% of what they take in is actually used for children.
And the charity aspect is that they use that money to send children to religious schooling.

Where Can We Donate a Car That Doesn't Run?
The kars for kids actually doesn't go to your "typical" charity cases I saw a special on them and the money goes to sending Jewish children to orthodox summer camps there was a big expose on it. I don't remember exactly but I there is some scandal surrounding that organization

Where Can We Donate a Car That Doesn't Run?
We recently donated DH's car to the LI chapter of Make a Wish Foundation. His car ran, but I know that they also accept cars that do not run. It was a very easy process. We called the number and they give you a case number. They then pass your contact info on to a local towing company they work with and the towing company contacts you to arrange pickup. You sign over the title of the vehicle to the company at pickup. About 2 weeks after the car was picked up, we got a tax deduction letter in the mail.
