We're planning to have it happen this way. DD will be 3.1. Even if it isn't as special to her, I want to have a moment alone with DD, DH and the baby. I'm going to have DH bring DD into the room for a bit first.

Oh that sounds like a good idea. My DD will be 3.5 when I give birth, and I think she would really like to be able to come in first to meet the baby. Then she could feel important when she gets to introduce the baby to her grandparents. I will try to have it work out that way. But who knows what will really end up happening with my pushy in-laws.

My oldest was 20 month when my 2nd was born. The plan was to bring her into see her baby sister by herself and than lets everyone else in. Unfortunately I was so sick after my csec no one was allowed in to see me or the baby. Everyone came up to see the baby during visitation and I was still too sick so they got to see her in the nursery. In end it didn't matter but I think its nice to have that moment as a family of 4 all by yourselves.
