Re: When you go TOT...

Where we live now we don't get many TOTers so if I left a bowl out it would probably go untouched. But, when I lived in Queens I had some punk kid swipe my Halloween bowl and all the contents in it. So, one dumbass kid ruined it for all the others because I stopped leaving one out now. Wtf does a kid even need the bowl for? Are they really carrying it house to house in their loot bag? What a douche move. After that I also quickly learned not to give them full access to the bowl while I held it out for them to let them choose a couple pieces when some dlck kid lunged for the whole bowl like a fuking cafone and poured it into his bag knocking the bowl out of my hands and the few pieces that were left on the floor. Nevermind the fact that you're a 6'2 senior in HS without a costume and your spongebob pillow case, I'll ignore that shit, but don't be a dlck and learn some fuking manners pig!

Nope. I didn't even buy candy this year because I was only home for about 20 minutes. I had some little bags of skittles left over from a party and figured I'd use those if needed.

Yes, I've left a bowl out 3 years in a row so far and haven't had any issues. I don't care if some kids take it all. That's why I buy the candy for them.

I don't buy 5 lbs of candy for one kid to take it all. I buy it for the whole neighborhood to take a few pieces each

Maybe I think differently cause I haven't had any issues with all my candy or bowl being taken. Yesterday I had my bowl out from 3:30-9:00 and I had 4 pieces of candy leftover at the end. The bowl was still half full when we got back home at 6:30.

But I keep seeing posts all over FB this morning of bowls being stolen, people driving up and stealing their candy....that is crazy!

Unfortunately people are huge azzholes and I'm actually more surprised to hear there are people here who HAVEN'T had their bowl and all the candy inside stolen by some punk kid. Does that actually happen? Lol

We leave out a tray with candy since we are out ToT for 2 hours during peak time. I even individually bag several pieces together in the hopes to make it easier to just take ONE treat bag. Unfortunately there is always some punk kid who takes half the candy. In past years we have had our bowl stolen too, now we put it in a disposable tin tray....

No I've never done that. I do feel bad if they come when nobody's home but I'd rather hand it out personally.

I used to but people abused it
Would take the whole bowl and there would be nothing left at all.
So now I don't anymore

Same here.

Did it last year and did notice a car stop and adults get out and take some candy(we were out tot on our block), which was ok, but this year all candy and bowl included was taken...probably won't do it againChat Icon
