When you go on vacation.....

do you eat like an absolute pig with no regard to what you are doing whatsoever?

My coworker and I were talking about this today. She just got back from Italy and she ate like 3 croissants with Nutella for breakfast everyday. I just came back from Vegas and I had dessert with every meal and the meals certainly were not small! DH and I ate like our lives depended on it with no regard to calories or fat in the least.

One day I had 2 large hot Tollhouse cookies. I would never eat that at home in the middle of the day!

Why do we feel just because we are on vacation that we can do that? Trust me, when I came back to work on Monday my pants were snug!

or is it just me!??!

I do the same thing! And if its an all-inclusive type of place, it's even worse because then when I come home, I am trained to be "hungry" like every hour!

I definitely indulge more than I do when I am home-- but, I try to eat well for breakfast, etc. when I can to make up for the fact that i will eat total shite...

on our HM we ate a lot b/c we had the disney dining plan. so we hads appts, the entree and desert with every meal. so yes, we ate like pigs.

On vacation anything goes. We had haagan daz for lunch, hit the buffets, my pants were snag too. But now i am back to eating healther but starving. lol

Oh, no...you are not alone. In Italy, DH and I had gelatto every day, and he sometimes even had it two times a day. I do try to allow myself more treats if I know I'll be walking around a lot. If its more of a lounging around vacation, I tend to feel more guilty and try to eat healthy some of the time.

I try to eat a good breakfast and then wait until dinner to eat but its very hard and I feel as though, its vacation enjoy it!!

Not really. The only thing we probably indulge in is alcohol, where we drink every day.

I totally go crazy on vacation...I feel like it's the one time I can have dessert after dinner every night and not feel guilty about it!

I have no self-control on vacation. i thin kI gained 7 lbs on my honeymoon!

We absolutely over-indulge. Vacation is to get away from it all. ALL the worries about counting calories and fat grams, and number of drinks you've had. Then we try to be good again when we get home. Emphasis on the word "try." Doesn't always happen.

not really - usually i'm in a bikini on vacation so i'm extra careful to not pig out. it's so hard on a cruise though!

I definately do indulge more. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that you are more relaxed & also are not on the go constantly so you fill that time with food

I never care about calories on vacation. I figure, I watch what I eat all year round, I might as well live it up on vacation.

What fun would a vacation be without some good eating. I never go away wthout researching and finding great restaurants before I go. My favorite place to research on is www.chowhound.com

Oh I eat and drink all day long. When we went on our HM I was so happy to go haome, I ate and drank so much my capris were getting tighter by the day. So yeah Im a slob and enjoy my vacations, why not? You only get to do it a few times a year.
