When would you make the switch to an RE?
I'm curious as to what you all think. I am currently seeing my regular OB/GYN for fertility treatment (Dr. Gus San Roman). I will be starting my second round of clomid shortly as today is CD1, I was monitored last month with sonos to see if there were any follicles maturing and there weren't. So this month I am starting clomid again at 100mg CD 5-9. This month will be the same with the monitoring. I know you can only do the clomid for 6 months, but I'm even hesitant to last that long without seeing an RE. How long would you continue with this type of treatment before you sought out an RE? We've already been TTC #2 for a year (but only sought treatment in Jan), so at this point DH and I feel we would rather be more agressive than less.

I would go straight to a RE. We were TTC for almost 9 months before I went to see a RE and got pregnant on our 3rd medicated cycle, first IUI. GOOD LUCK!!
If you are looking for a recommendation... I went to RSofNY and saw Dr. Saketos. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the doctors in the practice.

Thanks for the reccomendation. If I'm not mistaken that is the practice that my current GYN's brother is a part of.

I would see an RE now. Why wait?............especially if you're already starting on Clomid. Best thing I ever did was make the switch to an RE. I see Dr. Gabe San Roman at Reproductive Specialists of NY. LOVE him!

I would go ASAP, esp if youre already taking Clomid. I wouldnt waste my time with the OBGYN esp. since the RE may be able to treat you quickly.
Good Luck

I agree....if you are on Clomid now, then I would go to an RE as soon as you can.

Re: When would you make the switch to an RE?
i would go now especially if you already did a clomid cycle with no response. it is good that you are getting monitored - but if you have 0 response to it you will need a different combo of drugs as well as testing to see what the issues are.
i went after 6 months of TTC because i wasnt Oing consistently. my ob/gyn gave me clomid but didnt offer any type of monitoring so i swithed to an RE that same cycle. i had no response and was immediately moved to femara and injectables by the RE.
good luck!!
