when will u tell..

i mean im not even telling people we r ttc becuase im afraid of the monthly question of are u..etc

we r in the middle of all this and i know it will happen but untill it does i want to keep it quiet..kwim?

so my question is..when u do get it are u telling right away or waiting..

after our mc i want to wait a bit but my sis is hounding me every second saying..joking of course..she wants to see preggo test and all that stuff..


im just so afraid to say we r preggo then lose the baby again

When we first started ttc I figured we'd tell our immeadiate families and close friends right after the first doctors appointment and then everyone else around 12 weeks or as long as we could hold out. Now after having an unsuccesfull IVF and dealing with telling everyone I think we'll wait a bit to tell even immeadiate family.

i will tell my mom/sis and a couple friends right away or at least after the 1st appt to see the babies heartbeat. Everyone else (including the ILs) I will wait until after 12 weeks.

If i get it this time i will have to tell my cousin because i would be about 8 mos preggo at her wedding and im in the wedding party... we are going to Bridal Reflections on Saturday so I can get fitted... i would have to spill the beans then

When I get my BFP I'm going to jump and scream and shout "hip hip horay!" I'll probably tell my Mom right away and won't tell people until I see a nice heartbeat on the sonogram!

i basically told my best friend, and kinda came out on here (kinda cuz im hiding) but the day after i did that, i had a chemical! i feel like i jinxed myself!!

so im keeping my mouth shut for a while!

nobody really even knows we are trying well besides you guys...i even lied to my best friend and told her we were going to wait for a little bit, cuz i dont wanna hear her ask "did you get af yet?"

i am 7 weeks and the only person who knows is my sister and my cousin - who is 6 weeks ahead of me

everyone else will eb told proabably after 10 weeks and the fb world after 12 lol

We aren't going to tell anyone until we hear the heartbeat. After just having a chemical it makes you realize how many things can happen so we def want to wait more now then ever.

I am not a believer in the waiting 12 weeks rule... cause if a person miscarries everyone ends up finding out anyway and then its would be harder to expain and talk about then. Its a happy time, so I would not want to hide it at all.. EXCEPT at work... that I would wait to tell.

i plan to wait until the heartbeats and the tell immediate family/friends and then ill wait a little longer for everyone else.

The way I see it, if God forbid, something went wrong within the first few weeks of pregnancy, I'd need the support of my closest friends and family.

That being said - DH and I have agreed we will keep it between us until we see a heartbeat. At which point we will tell our parents and siblings and closest friends. Everyone else will be after we are safely out of the first trimester.

I already know how we are going to spill the beans to people. Have had it planned out for quite some time now . I'd really hate to jump the gun and do our little surprises too soon and then have to take it all back.

This is all theoretical because I may end up bursting and telling people ahead of "plan" but our current plan is:

possibly tell 1-2 close friends as soon as bfp.

tell immediate family after we see a heartbeat and/or around that time when we can see people to surprise them in person.

tell friends and family at 12 weeks

tell facebook once we find out the gender

My plan is to not tell parents until we see the dr. and tell them in person.

1 friend after bfp.. maybe some more not sure yet.


Most family and friends close to 3 mo.

NEVER FB! It just creeps me out. To each it's own.

We were waiting to tell our immediate family until after our first dr's apt. Which wouldve been this Thursday. And Im glad we did, because I began m/c yesterday. In the future, we will DEFINITLY wait until after the first apointment, and probably wont tell others until after 12 weeks.

we're definitley keeping it to ourselves for a little while... to hold on to our little secret and enjoy it as a couple. Then will defintely be my mom and his mom. After that, my mouth is shut until 12 weeks.. except to you ladies, of course.

for DS we told immediate family at 12 weeks and everyone else around 14 weeks. It was hard to wait that long, but it was nice to have great pics from the sonograms to surprise everyone. Plus, our fam has big mouths so we thought it best to wait.

With DS I told my family and close friends right away. At 9 weeks, we came out on FB. This time I will probably wait a little longer for coming out of FB but I will still tell my close friends and family early on. If something should go wrong then they would know that I am going through a rough patch.

when i was pregnant with #1, we watied till 12 weeks to tell everyone.
and at the time i was arguing with my mom so i waited till we made amends to tell her the news... otherwise i prob would have told my mom a llittle earlier.

when i was pregnant with #2, i told my very best friend the day i tested. i couldnt hold it in.
i was going to tell my mom around 8wks but i ended up miscarrying.

i told the bad news b.c i had to get a d&c and i didnt want her to be in the dark...
