When to take progesterone sup

I've been on them since Friday and it seems they aren't working. I went for my 1 week check yesterday. My levels are only 8.5 which is too low (nurse told me they prefer them to be 12). All they said was to 'keep the faith' (not much help IMO).

I'm wondering if i'm just taking them wrong which is why they aren't working? One of my co-workers thats 2 months PG was saying that she was told to lie down for 45 min or so after inserting.

I think i'm going to at least try that at this point though i might be taking them too close together. If i get home around 5:30 and take them i'd take it again when i go to bed around 11.

I use to take them in the morning (which I HATED) and at night before bed. I was on them from weeks 5-12 of my pregnancy and I was always around 12 for my progesterone levels. Since I took one dose in the a.m. I couldn't lie down because I was up for the day and had to get to work so I don't think you have to but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.

When are you supposed to take it? I was always told to insert before bed so you lay down and sleep with them in??

How many times a day are u taking them? After my ER, I was taking them 4X a day. (Ummm....yuck.) Now I am down to 1X a day and just take it when I get home from work (and my progesterone # has been super high). They never said that I should lay down after taking it.

Just to clarify, I have PCOS and i don't even know if i am PG...it's too soon to tell. I know its extremely common for low progesterone in PCOS patients and there's an extremely high M/C rate.

I'm starting to feel doubtful based on the conversation i had with the nurse. I didn't get monitored at all my last IUI (which was at a different office). There's no way of knowing what my levels were last time.

Will an egg even 'stick' if progesterone is low? I'm not sure how high it should be for the egg to fertilize and by now it might already be too late.

I am on 3 a day so i've been taking it when i get up, in the afternoon and before bed. I guess it couldn't hurt to try something a lttle different?

I think i'm just an emotional mess right now to begin with. Part of me thinks its PMS and part of me has no clue.

I take one in the AM when I wake and one in the PM right before bed.

I hope thats right...

I had to use progesterone supp. from weeks 7-12 and I would insert them in the morning and just use a liner to "catch" the excess.

My blood was taken at 7 weeks and my progesterone level was only found to be 8 so I was put on them to help sustain the pregnancy. I am now 21 weeks so that 8.5 could be a good sign!!!

I don't have PCOS, but I started progesterone supplements this cycle due to low progesterone. I conceived in July, and my progesterone level at 7 dpo that month was 7.1. So it is definitely possible to conceive with that level.

I called my dr. the other day to ask about how far apart to take them...the nurse said to try to take them at least 10 hours apart. She said you don't have to lay down afterwards. I have been taking 1 at about 7 am right before I leave for work, and the other at about 9 pm. I try to lay down for a half hour or so after that one.

It's not looking good. I got BFN this morning and i decided not to take the meds (i know its stupid to just stop but it's just not worth it, i know i'm not PG). The conversation with the nurse last week really got me down.

I'm still curious about the rates with PCOS.
