When is the last time you made a major hair style change?

Just saw a video of a woman who had long dreadlocks for 20 years, and shaved it all off, and her SO's reaction to it, so I thought it would be a good thread topic.

How long ago was the last time you made a major change in your hair style?

I haven't changed my hair style since college. It's mathematically the hair style for men that has the least amount of work involved...

Not so short that I have to trim it constantly, and short enough that I don't even have to really comb it.

Never. I have long (mid-back length) very straight hair, always have. I don't do layers, bangs, etc. & I don't dye it. I wear it either down, or in a ponytail or high bun. I'm realizing I'm pretty boring!

When is the last time you made a major hair style change?

I chose 4-10 years ago because in 2012 I chopped almost 11 inches off of my hair to donate. Then I grew it back out and it has been long ever since.

I used to have bangs and I grew them out for my wedding, so say 9 years ago. I miss them. I'm all face so I always thought I looked better with bangs.

Also, after I had a kid, I cut it to my shoulders. Before that I always had hair at least to the bottom of my shoulder blades.

It's pretty much been the same since middle school. I don't dye it, never have, and just always keep it kind of long with slight layers. Dh wants me to cut it short, but I just really don't think I'd like it short. And I'm of the 'don't bother with dying it until I go gray' mindset. Low-maintenance is my motto (at least for hair )

When is the last time you made a major hair style change?

I cut off 16 inches about 6 years ago. I have been growing it back ever since.

In October I chopped off almost 12 inches. Went from mid-back to above my shoulders. I thought that was too short and just got a trip to keep it just at shoulder length.

Last year I cut it to just above my shoulders and went blonder. Then this year, I'm growing it out and went darker. I get bored easily. LOL.

I used to do it pretty often. I like change. Go from blonde to brown, chop my hair, let it grow out then cut bangs, etc.
When DH and I were engaged it took everything in me to hold back from doing any big changes since I wanted it long and blonde highlights for the wedding. After I chopped it then went dark brown. Now I don't change it as often. My hair grows fast so usually once it's past my shoulders I've chopped it, but now I'm growing it out again and planning on lightening it soon.

2 years ago I cut off 12inches of hair. I love my hair when it's chin length but it's a lot more work to style.

WELL it was just over four years ago when I had a major change because of chemo. Lost it all, I was bald.

Now my hair is back - almost the same color and it's the same thickness and texture. I'm growing it out to donate it -- its down to my lower back at this point.

I'll be doing a big change on February 17th -- that's the four year anniversary of my last chemo treatment and will be doing my donation that day!

I've always loved drastic changes...just, like, when it's by choice HAHA. I've had all different lengths and colors over the years.

I have curly hair and in 2013 I got a relaxer and bangs. I liked it at the time b/c it was easy to maintain, but once I had to start coloring my hair to cover greys, I went back to the same style I've had since college - long with long layers and naturally curly.

I change my hair every 6 months to a year. I’ve been blonde, red, brown and black with a few mixes in between. I also go from long to short and layers and bangs. I get bored with hair fast lol.

I had highlights and a lighter base up until 2008, when I dyed it back to my natural dark golden brown. That's also when I cut a thin fringe of bangs into my hair and wore it flatter.
I always had my hair angled in, now if I'm feeling fancy, I flip it out or curl the ends. I NEVER used to wear my hair up, but now I almost always have a bun or ponytail

I honestly think I have had the same hair all my life...besides going from naturally curly to keratin straight its always been the same boring straight hair parted down the middle.

Hmmm about 7th grade... I cut my hair into a short bob. Never again!

I switch between layers and bangs every other year- sometimes it's super long, sometimes it's just below my shoulders. I wouldn't call it drastic.

The biggest change would be the color. I used to dye my hair red religiously, but now I have a kid and less time/money so I sometimes let the red fade out and go back to my boring brown for a few months.

ETA: Oh yeah, I forgot I was blonde! DUH! When I first started dating my DH I was blonde. I met his mom that way then dyed my hair red the next week. She thought I was a different girl. That was ugh 13 years ago?

Im always changing the color and cut. Never super short but layers, highlights, bangs. I love changing my look

A few years ago I got bangs. But I keep it short-ish. I am always changing the color, though. I had oil slick last year, then blue, and now it’s balayage. I’m going to stop the coloring to give my hair a break for a bit.

I haven't changed my hair since high school BUUUUUT I don't have any kind of trendy, interesting cut that would go out of style. My hair is mid-length with nice, natural, spiral curls so I just leave it long and natural with some layers. I don't want a fussy style that requires a ton of styling and product.

ETA - I've never dyed my hair either and I have no gray (even though I am almost 43) because I have a dirty blonde hair color so if they are in there, they are hidden. I haven't found a gray yet!!

I chose more than 20. I haven’t dyed my hair since I’m a teenager. Still only a few white hairs - not ready to use coloring yet. And my hair style, cut has been the same forever. With very curly hair, there aren’t many styles that work. I do however blow it out every so often , that makes it a different “style” I guess lol

Every couple of months. I get bored and my hair is the easiest to change. Right now it’s at the most boring it’s been in a long time. Dark blonde, shoulder length and straight. I had a purplish pink highlights and it dried out my hair so I’m giving my hair a break.
