I turn it on when I am cold.
off when I am warm.
I don't have a date in mind.
if it's 45 degrees in october...it goes on
if it's 65 degress in January, I turn it off.

Once the inside of our house dips below 62 for an entire day. Our house fortunately gets warm in the daylight bc of direct sun. If it is chilly in the am, we put sweaters or robes on....Hopefully I will not turn it on til November

I started a thread on this the other day. The consenus of many is that they are waiting till Nov to turn the heat on.
Right now our house is btw 62-64 depending on the day. If it dips below that, on a consistent basis, we'll prob turn the heat on much to our chagrin.

Last year it went on in October...maybe mid-month. I am hoping we put it on soon...have to get on DH about this. He hates turning the heat on.

As soon as my comforter and blankets on the bed do not keep me warm all night long. Usually it is not until November though.

I turned it on the other day for a bit just to make sure everything was working properly. I'm hoping we get a warm spell and won't need it until Nov., but it's difficult with a 1 year old.

Right now we are alternating btwn the CAC and the heat!!
When we are cold the heat goes on, and when we are warm the air goes on...easy as that!!

I have the thermostats set at 62, and the heat has been turning on upstairs around 4ish the past few mornings. Usually it's only on a few minutes and then it clicks back off and stays off the rest of the day.

Ours has been on at night for a week now. When I took the dog for a walk at 5:30 this morning it was 44 degrees!
We don't resist turning the heat on. If we're cold, it's on.

ditto for me... i'm TRYING to be good & save money by not turning it on until at least the end of oct - but i changed into my PJs last night & my PJ pants were FREAZING!!!! thats right - they actually gave me goose bumps when i put them on!!!
i also cannot walk around barefoot on our tile floor b/c my feet turn to ice in about 10 minutes

We're trying to hold out until November 1. We have 2 quilts on our bed and a large fleece blanket that we snuggle under when we are in the living room.
We bundle Lilly up with sweatshirts and sweaters as well. She's only 11 pounds and super skinny - she gets cold quickly - she's the first one to dive under the blankets!

Our house really doesn't hold the heat in well. We put it on when we went to bed just to maintain 65 otherwise it has been getting really cold overnight.
