Re: When did your DC stop wearing bibs?
DS is only 4 months old... but whenever he ate I used to give him a bib when he was up to a month old. But then I didn't need to... he was just not making a mess at all. But now he's just drooling like crayz....but when I put a bib on him... he just tries to pull it off.

Re: When did your DC stop wearing bibs?
My DS has severe excessive drool at 28 months. Rashes, bibs, 50 shirts a day - the whole nine. Unfortunately his is a medical issue (extremely enlarged adenoids and tonsils) that will require surgery.
Does your DS have proper jaw posture? How is his speech? 14 months is older than most but in my experience it's still not a cause for concern. And he's not old enough for the bibs to be a social issue so I'd keep using them as long as he keeps needing them. My DS is now at an age where he knows bibs are "baby" and most of the time wants nothing to do with them - which prompted us to really look further into it (speech eval first, ENT second). I'd mention it to the ped at his next well visit and consider pursuing EI Speech Evaluation (low muscle tone in the jaw is a possible reason for this) around 18 months.
In the meantime, make sure he's drinking only from straw cups (this will strengthen his muscle tone). Also let him suck on lollipops - that'll also help with the muscle tone. As for the bibs, I would recommend the Green Sprouts stage 2 bibs - they're the terry on the outside but have a plastic lining on the inside, keeps the shirt totally dry.
I know how frustrating it is
