when did your child attempt stairs?

I can't for the life of me remember when DS crawled up or tried to walk up stairs.

DD is 14.5 months and doesn't even try though she has limited access to stairs since all stairs are gated and she has only been walking for one month. Front steps, she doesn't even try to lift her leg when we get to the steps after walking up the driveway.

DD was young. I can't remember exactly how many months, but it was either before a year or a little after.

7 months or so. He crawled just after 6 and it was before he walked I I think it was right around 7-8

ETA - this was crawling. He walked at 9 months so walked stairs shortly there after.

She can go up with our help. Shes 14m next week. But we are up and down the stairs constantly.

DD was very delayed in gross motor so she wasn't crawling stairs until almost 18 months. But her physical therapist says by 18-20 months "normal" kids should be able to walk up and down the stairs. she'll only walk up/down the stairs if we hold one of her hands. But she loves climbing up and down the stairs on her own. She still has some difficulty with down, she mostly climbs up.

DS could crawl up stairs for a while before he learned to walk. I'd say he was 10 months or so.

11 months almost 1 dd2 was climbing up them. She just turned 1 so recently. She really only goes 1 step and stands there. My moms said she went 4 stairs when she was babysitting.

Dd1 was early too. She was walking at 91/2 months so I guess soon after

By 10 1/2 months both of my DDs had mastered the stairs. Life was much easier before! DD2 is just over 11 months and can get up the stairs but still isn't walking.

DS crawled up the stairs before he was able to walk. He was 11 months.

layla has been crawling up them for a few months now (with us following behind) but has never attempted to go down or try walking up them

About 8 months. She's not walking yet though.

she started showing interest at around 13 months I think. she's 17 months now and can crawl up on her own, or walk down holding my hands or the railing and one of my hands.

9 mo. Both got up the entire flight at 12 mo.

ETA- I just read that the stairs are gated. That makes sense that she wouldn't even bother. Mine weren't gated so they were intriguing.

My DD has just started to climb up stairs and she is 10 1/2 months. She is not walking yet.

About 7 months. She was also standing up at that stage.

She was crawling stairs before she learned to walk. I don't remember exactly when, but I know she did the one step at her daycare's old location, so about 7-8 months.

hmmmm, maybe I should let her try, see what happens. I just found it odd that she wouldn't even attempt to lift her leg to go up the front steps...

she DOES lift her leg to get on her little Minnie mouse car that she can ride. I don't think its a motor issue. I will ask the Ped! Maybe its just a lack of exposure.

With DS2, it was definitely before 1 year. He's a little monkey and climbs on everything.

Ds has been climbing up the stairs since he started crawling at 8.5 months! Once he was able to crawl over to them, he went up them! He gets so excited when we open the gate.

I am sure it is definitely lack of exposure!

DD was about 9-10 months old when she crawled up each step at our house on her own. She just couldn't go down.

My oldest was about 8 months went she would go up. Going down was after a year.

My youngest was a crazy girl and started a lot 7 months and went down by 7 months and was going down on her butt by 11 months. She was walking by 9 months though so that speeding up the process.

DD just turned a year March 21 she did the stairs then she thinks its so much fun Mommy not so much
