when did your baby pull to a standing position?
My ds will be 10 months.next week and has not done this yet. When did you lo do this? My ped freaked me out by saying if he doeant soon he might need to go to early intervention. Does this mean his walking and other gross motor skills will be delayed as well? Thanks!!

when did your baby pull to a standing position?
IMO, it doesn't necessarily mean anything quite yet. Does he make an attempt at all? Is he crawling? If so when did he start? If you stand him up to hold onto something like the couch, does he hold himself up by bearing his weight equally on both legs? Have you tried prompting him by putting toys on the couch so he has to pull up? Is he able to crawl and explore freely to have the opportunity to pull up or is he typically confined to one area? (In a jumper, exersaucer, swing, seat, pack and play, etc)
These were all questions my Ds's Dr asked me when I voiced my concerns about DS to her. I would try to "practice" with him more. He'll get it soon I'm sure!! It also never hurts to call EI to get the ball rolling for evaluations. There is no out of pocket cost to you and they come right to your house. Good luck!!

At 9 mos my son was not sitting. We started the process for and EI evaluation. He started crawling and siting the morning of the evaluation. He is going to be 1 next week and started pulling to stand this week.
I will also add that he is a preemie born at 28 weeks. So he does get some extra time to do things.

DD started standing at 8 months, she's 12mo now and only takes a few steps. I know kids that didn't stand until a year and walked very shortly after.
He may just need a little more time, or you can encourage him by putting him in a standing position as much as possible.

My DS did it just before 6 months and was cruising before crawling but even my Ped said it was super early and not normal.

DS started to consistently pull to stand between 11 and 12 months. He only started cruising within the past week or so.

8 mos, 12 days (I had to look, lol).
She's now 10.5 mos cruising but not walking (and not imminently close, I don't think).

All kids are different. Yours will get there. I know my 1st was standing at 9 months. My #2 is 8 months almost and showing no interest in pulling herself up. It's easier not to have her so mobile!

my twins are premies born at 30 weeks so everything is 2.5 months off to begin with
Twin A- 11 Months
twin B- now at 12 months is just showing an interest and is pulling up if your hands are out for her to grab, but nothing else.
Both girls get PT through EI. It is really great!!

7 1/2 months, but seriously all kids are different! I know my friend's DD didn't start doing that to around or even a little after 12 months. All totally normal

You call the county # for EI and tell them you would like to set up an evaluation. That will get the ball rolling.

My DS did not pull to stand until he was about 9 months. He didnt crawl until a week shy of 10 months. He is now 12 months and cruising and crawling all over the place but still not walking. He will stand without holding onto something but he wont take a step. I used to be concerned for his motor skills but after talking to my ped and other moms, Ive learned to try not to rush everything. Babies develop at their own rate. He will not go to college crawling, I promise.

My Twins are now 10 Months. They were born Oct. 28.
I have one twin, A who is trying to do it but can't yet.
Twin B is low tone so he is behind. We have been getting EI since March. They both get it 2x's a week. My Twin A guy will be out of EI very soon according to my P/T. If your twins are not doing it or showing an interest I would call EI.

my ds#1 never crawled and he never pulled to a stand i don't think.
He walked a week before his 1st birthday
We did have him evaluated and he didn't qualify, although he was close for low tone in his stomach.

 #1-:6.5 months
#2- 7.5 months
 #2- on his 5th month birthday
Both my girls did it just a few days after they started crawling. DS did it a month before crawling.

My son is 11 months and I would say around 10 months he was pulling himself up, maybe a little sooner he was trying. I freaked out bc he wasn't crawling at 8 months, then 9 months he started army crawling and it is only in the last couple weeks that he really scoots around fast crawling. I don't think there is anything to be alarmed at 10 months though. Of course you get worried when hear other babies do it sooner but there are plenty of babies that crawl, stand, walk later also so keep that in mind and try not to worry.

DD was pulling up to stand at 7.5 months. She didn't start crawling until 8 months, and was full on walking at 11 months.
