When Did You Switch Your DC From Whole Milk To 2% Or Less?
I was told by my Pediatrician that when Chloe is 2 years old (in 3 mos) to go from the whole milk she is on to skim.
Today I had her in the DR for an appt and she was weighed. She is a WHOPPING 31.10 pounds, and 33 and 1/8" at 21 MOS. The covering DR said since she is almost two years old, switch her now to 2%.
Just looking for what other mommies are doing/did.

I never gave him whole milk. He is a monster and weighed 30 lbs at 16 months. I went from step 2 formula to 2%

At age two my ped said i could switch the boys to 2%. However, neither of them drinks that much milk so i kept them both on whole.

I wont use anything but whole milk for me... so she will be saying on whole milk too.
she doesnt drink all that much that I am worried about it.

My DD has been on 2% since her 12 month check up.. she was 30 inches and 25 lbs and the dr told me to switch her... so we did.. and she has been doing better with evening out her height and weight percentages...

at the 2yo visit the ped said I can switch her to skim milk. She has always been the 50% for weight and 75% height.

DD was 95% height and weight and at her 18 month visit doc said to switch her to 2%..

DD is 2.5 and has always been in the 95% for height and weight. Her ped never mentioned switching her from whole milk so that is what she still drinks.

My ped never told me to switch. DS is 4 years old and stil drinks regular milk. DD is 15 months old and drinks soy milk only because she can not digest regular milk properly.

They were on whole milk from ages 1-2; after 2 we switched to 1%.

Went from whole to skim at 2. However, DD is quite tall and has always been a good weight- not skinny but not too heavy.

My son will be 5 in September and drinks 16oz of whole milk everyday (sometimes more- if you count a bowl of cereal or whatever)..
He is on the small side, and hates food. (well he hates to eat-period) So I sneak the fat in wherever I can!

I also had a 30 lb one year old so we also went right from formula to 2%.

My DD turned two in Feb and she still drinks whole milk, she doesn't drink enough milk for it to be a problem.

At 18 months, DD is 25 lbs, so our ped. told us to stay with whole milk for now.
However, my DD drinks approximately 28-30 oz. a day, so we're going to re-evaluate at her 2 year checkup. DD loves her milk!!

My ped said when she is 2 they no longer recommend whole milk and they want us to switch over to either skim or 1%. The whole milk is necessary in the first year for brain development but after that it's too calorie dense and fatty for them to have consistently which is why they have you make the switch.

My 21 month old DS has the same exact stats as your DD. He's been on 2% for the past 3 months already.

Our ped told us to switch to 2% at 2 yrs, especially if heart disease runs in the family.
