When did you stop waking your LO up at night for a bottle?

I cam't remember anything from when my first DS was a newborn! When did you stop waking your LO up for a night time feeding?

Right now DS is 3 weeks old and eats 3.5oz every 3-3.5hrs. At night we let him go up to 4.5hrs and I swear if I didn't wake him up he'd sleep right thru. I'm nervous to see if he'll sleep thru because I dont' want him to be eating less than he should in 24hrs (and we just increased to 3.5oz yesterday).

Remind me of how this goes!!!
TIA

We only woke DD up for the first week or so since she was slightly jaundiced. After that we woke her every 3-4 hours during the day, but let her sleep as long as she wanted to at night.

7 weeks for the 12 am. Then I took away the 4:30 at about 6 mo in exchange for my sanity.

ETA, I thought you didn't have to wake to feed over night once they are back to birth weight. I never woke mine at that 12am feeding once they started sleeping through it. Mama needs sleep.

With my DS (2 months old), I stopped waking him at 4 weeks, as per the doctor. However, for DD (2 years old), I stopped waking her when she reached her birth weight, as per a different doctor.

I never woke either of my girls to eat. As long as there are no issues with weight gain, let him sleep. He will certainly let you know when he's hungry!

Never woke him up. He did enough of that on his own.

I never woke either of my children. DD #2 is 2 months today and she still wakes up. A few times she has gone for 5 or 6 hour stretches and I enjoy my sleep those nights :)

I woke him up the 1st week he was home then never again. But he wakes up at some point himself to eat. He is only 6 weeks but I cant wait until he sleeps through the night :)

Re: When did you stop waking your LO up at night for a bottle?

We never woke at night. The only time I would consider it would be if your child is a preemie or not gaining weight.

My motto is never wake a sleeping baby. They will wake when hungry

I never woke my kids at night. Even my preemie twins. They most of the time woke up on their own though, but by 3 months they were STTN. My DS who just turned a year started STTN at 2.5-3 weeks old and I never woke him for a bottle.

My ped said to wake her up, I said no. LOL

So glad I did that because a few weeks later at our second appointment we had a different doctor, and that doctor was like "i hope you arent waking her up at night!"

Re: When did you stop waking your LO up at night for a bottle?

never woke a sleeping baby.
That said, DS woke up every 4 hrs on the dot!
At 6 months, we weaned him off the midnight bottle and he started STTN.

Re: When did you stop waking your LO up at night for a bottle?

I never woke her.
She took care of taht for me. She was up every 2 hours on her own.
I wish I had the problem of having to wake her to eat.
I would have LOVED that.
(And I might have considered actually having a second! Chat Icon )
