When did you stop using your high chair?

I am expecting DD #2 in April when DD#1 will be 21 months. I am thinking that by the time DD#2 needs to use a highchair (around 4 months or so) my DD#1 will be 2 years old. Do you guys think I should jiust get a booster chair for DD#1 to use and have DD#2 use the high chair? I have no room for 2 high chairs!

You should be able to use a booster seat by then. We just got one for DS a few weeks ago when he turned 2. He could have been in a booster before that I think, but he was happy in the highchair till recently and we didn't need it, so he stayed there.

But yes, you are safe with a booster for a 2 year old.

DS is 26 months and although we still have ours in the kitchen, the booster seat has been out for over a month now. Some days he still wants to sit in the high chair...but 99% of the time he goes to the booster seat. I am thinking that we'll be putting the highchair away soon

by 18 -20 mths she was using the booster...she never liked being confined in the high chair.

My DD's 29 months & still likes to sit in the high chair here/there, although she's had the booster seat for a couple of months. She also likes to paint/color in her high chair.

My son is over 3 and still mostly eats in his high chair. He likes it and asks to be put in. He just starting to want to sit at the table like a big boy, but only sometimes.

dd is 2 1/2 yrs older than second dd and we used the highchair with her until recently...dd#2 uses bumbo still at 7 mos!

DS used his until he was probably 16-18 months old.

DD liked sitting in hers until almost 3.5. I think she would still use it if we let her, but we decided to let her sit in the regular chairs now. Outside of the kitchen table, she hasn't even used a booster for a year or so, so it's not like she needs it, she just seemed to like it.

At 18 months DD started refusing the high chair.

I got Ryan a booster seat and had him sit at the tabe at about 18 months. He was miserable in the highchair - and it was a PITA to clean. He is soooo much happier at the table.
With Colin, I will only use my FP Space Saver thing when the time comes - I officially hate highchairs

Don't remember exactly but it was around 3...It was just easier to contain her in there. If your DC will sit nicely in the booster to eat, then there is no reason not to use that. I know mine would have been up and down and all around without being "jailed" in the highchair. Even now, when we go to restaurants, we often ask for a highchair for her.
