when did you start a sleep routine
twins will be 10 weeks tomorrow..
we really don't have a "routine",by 11 they have a bath and are in pjs and have a bottle
sometimes they go right to sleep, sometimes one does, sometimes they both yell lol
they have slept 5 hrs straight and 2 hrs, there really is no rhyme or reason
i am ok with this schedule,i just want to know when we should try to make it more of a def routine or try
also when should i dro a feeding, weights are fine..whay i mean is say they wake up at 1 am i always make the bottle, should i try to rock back asleep and see if they areok without it or at 10 weeks is that too young
thanks

Re: when did you start a sleep routine
I started a routine with DD when she was 6 months. We had just moved into our new house so it was a lot easier to have a routine. She is 21 months now and still is on some form of that routine.

Re: when did you start a sleep routine
Probably around that time or 12 weeks. We would treat their 7 or 8 pm bottle like bedtime even though we knew they would eat again at 10 or 11. We did bath (every other day) and pjs. Then fed them and swaddled thenand kept things quiet until 10 or 11. They usually hung out in their bouncy seats. As I noticed them really sleeping after the 8pm bottle I tried cutting out the 11 pm bottle

when did you start a sleep routine
I've been doing the same bedtime routine pretty much since Dd was around 4 weeks. Around 7 I either give her a bath or just wash her face and hands, change her diaper, get her into her pjs, then feed her. I BF but usually give a bottle of formula at night. I started bc my supply used to be low at night but now she seems to expect the bottle at night. I usually turn off the lights in her room while feeding her and just have the light from the hallway. I sometimes play a lullaby CD if I think of it, especially on night's she seems extra cranky. Usually she falls asleep during the feeding, and if not I rock her a little. The whole routine lasts about and hour maybe before she's sleeping. Now at four months, she's starting to sleep for 8 or 9 hours, but at around 10 weeks she was doing more like 5 or 6 if I was lucky. I always fed her when she woke bc I figured she needs to eat. My breasts were always painfully full by then so I wanted to feed her and she always ate eagerly so I knew she was hungry. It used to take an hour or so after that to rock her back to sleep but lately she falls back to sleep pretty easily after I feed her. One trick I learned is don't change the diaper unless you absolutely have to, like if she pooped or it's extra full. That always wakes my DD up even if I keep the lights off. I've been using pampers baby dry at night and they last a good 12 hours or more.
