The thing for me is that I've never liked the taste of beer, still don't care for it, too bitter.

Never drank in HS.
Then occasionally during college I'd drink if I was out with friends, but I'd get a drink I like.

I was drinking at that age. I also had a lot of problems at home and was looking

for an outlet. Is she? I also began to do a lot worse as I got older in H.S.



Lets just say I feel bad for my future children!

1 sip on a rare occasion from our parents glass (champagne of course!) and them not knowing. Probably 12-13.

My sister got drunk at 9 while my father was on the phone with my mom in the hospital. My mom just had my baby sister. My sister drank her 1/3 glass of Asti my father gave her (my mom would have never allowed it). AND my father full glass. I told her she was going to get in trouble. She was giggling too much.

I never liked beer taste or smell.

At 18 I was allowed to have 1/2 glass of champagne at Christmas or for a celebration with my parents.

Alcohol WITHOUT my parents, I don't think I drank before my mid 20's. And that was still very rare for me.

I started drinking when I went away to college, so I was just shy of 19.

My little sister is currently in 10th grade and is dealing with a similar issue. Her friends are all getting into drinking and she is left home with my parents most nights.

I would have a drink at family things at 16-17, but my parents were there and knew. Like champagne punch or things like that. I drank fully when I went away to college at 18.

We were always allowed to have sips of my father's drinks - beer or wine - from when we turned around 13 but I didn't start drinking in bars until I was 16. We were allowed to drink at 18 back then, so I wasn't too much underage.

In school, I was the good girl in the bad group, and like your sister, I just chose to opt out of some of the parties and drinking sessions. It did no harm to my friendships in the group. She sounds like a responsible teenager.

I started at 13, but as a social drinker within my family where they could watch us. There were too many family weddings and the gift was a bottle of champagne for all guests.

I never drank with friends until I was away at college at age 18.
