What's the longest you have ever heard a dr let someone go past their due date?

I am full of questions today, thinking ahead. What's the longest you have ever heard a dr would let a woman go past her due date?

I am due Dec 18 and really want to have the baby before the new year. If I don't have a c-sec, I wonder, what's the longest my dr might let me go if I didn't go naturally?

I think my friend waited 2 weeks after her DD, and still had to be induced. Is this extreme or the norm, letting someone go this long past their DD?

personally, my doc won't allow me to go past a week, i've heard midwives allow you to wait for as long so you need....so not really sure...

according to my childbirth instructor (an L&D nurse) the longest they will let you go is 42 weeks.

my doctor induced me on my 12th day of being late. I didn't have her until my 13th day of being late.

I know Julz was exactly 2 weeks late

The latest I've heard is 2 weeks past due date. I don't think my dr will let me go more than 1 week. I think most drs say about 1 week, and midwives will wait a bit longer

I believe it is 2 weeks, however when I went to the doctor last week, they told me that they do not like to let us go past 41 weeks. So I guess every doctor is different.

This is the longest I have ever heard, but from what I have discussed with the NP there has to be a good situation medically for someone to go this long.

2 weeks is the max, even for midwives.

My Dr. won't let me go past 2 weeks late - I'm hoping not to be more than a week late so the baby can be born this year!

My doctor didn't want me to go more than one week but I made him wait a little longer and I was 10 days late - I went on my own.

From what I have heard most doctors will induce you after 10 days.

2 weeks (with bio-physical profiles and monitoring) tends to be the agreed upon "safety range," because incidents of bad outcomes from post-dates don't start to rise until after 42 weeks. Most doctors will induce you earlier than 42 weeks, though if you request it.

I had DS 2 weeks past my due date. I was induced at 41w5d. That is the latest (41w5d) they would let me go before being induced. I was with a midwife too and they wouldn't let me go longer.

yeah, i heard the same thing, they will induce you after 42wks.

I was 11 days late with my son, but family legend tells that my mother was six weeks late with my sister...

Its a family myth, I hope it isn't true!!
