I have gmail and find it funny that gmail users are supposed to be more computer literate. I only have it because DH got it and suggested I get one. I rely on him to fix stuff, though

I totally set my mom up on gmail the minute I got her and my step father a computer for Christmas several years ago because I knew whatever the first email service I set her up with would be the only thing she learned, and it worked out great!

She is great at playing games like word whomp on the computer, and she can definitely check, send, and forward emails... and check the weather report. But that's about it.

I think Alyssa Milano tweeted this the other day, actually -- looks kinda familiar.

I have 2 gmails (school & personal) & an AOL. What does that say?

So true!!! I totally make assumptions about people based on their email address.

I use Gmail for personal (family & friends only).

Hotmail is an old account (15 years or so) and that's for when I have to create an account or place an order.

When people give me an aol addy, I assume they don't know crap about computers or the internet.

see, now that's just stupid

i have a @yahoo address, and have had it for at least the past 12 years or so.
So because i haven't bothered to change the domain name to a 'cooler' version means i'm somehow unhip? psh..
no, all it means is i don't want to go through that whole hassle of sending the 'my email has changed' email to everyone i know.

now, anyone who has ever known me can contact me, because my address has stayed the same

I have several gmails, a yahoo and an aol which I use most of the time because it's the one I've used for the last 10 years and it's just easier not to change everything over!

But I do try to reboot my router when my internet fails...so I'm not totally hopeless.

I know this is not by any means universal, but my parents use AOL, and DO print out emails and spell out URLs like that!

...I have to say I am not a fan of gmail, I never got into MySpace and I do know my way around a computer......

I;ve had the same address since 1998 and don't want to change it over. I have hundreds of saved emails that I want and everyone knows it. It's also one of the few vestiges of my maiden name!

Funny, that's exactly how the progression of my emails went from bottom to top. The only one I don't have now is the AOL.

i have 2 aol emails, but i don't log onto the main AOL website anymore to use them...what does that say about me? everyone has my main email, so i don't see the point in having to change it. and i know my way around a computer

I still have my AOL address. I don't feel like sending a mass email that I've changed my email after so many years. I don't even pay attention to domain names. Didn't realize that was something people actually do lol.

I may have AOL but I know my way around the computer and internet better than some friends that have gmail and the other domain names lol.
