What would you pick? Disney vs Atlantis vs Bermuda
Summer time 2 kids ages 7 and 2
7 days 6 nights
Prices are pretty much the same maybe 1 is about $300 difference (more) 7 days in 1. Disney Polynesian 2. Disney grand Floridian 3. Bermuda-(Fairmont) 3. Atlantis
As for the Disney option- we have been there a few times but never stayed at a monorail hotel so this would be different for us.

What would you pick? Disney vs Atlantis vs Bermuda
One thing about Atlantis was that kids needed to be 48 inches to ride the waterslides... We were supposed to be going to the Bahamas in March (we aren't) but, I was checking out daytrips to Atlantis and it wasn't worth it since my son was too short.

Not Disney, too hot. At least the other places you are on a beach/in a pool the whole time. I have always wanted to go to Atlantis so I would pick that.

Re: What would you pick? Disney vs Atlantis vs Bermuda
As much as I love Bermuda, I don't know if there is enough to do there for 2 young children other than beach/pool (which might be ok with you.)
The touristy sites I remember seem geared towards adults - a nice art/craft show, crystal caves, famous bars etc.
It's lovely though.
Atlantis has more for kids but I am not a fan of the Bahamas.
I would do Disney even with the heat but I am a Disney fan and not a big hang out by the water type of person.

I was about to say this. I love Bermuda and ive been a couple times but I don't know that it would be entertaining for kids. Even for adults I personally think seven days might be too much. I've never gone for more than four days or so. But I'm sure it's a matter of personal preference!

I think the kids would be bored in Bermuda for that long. Disney is always a good option but I would vote for Atlantis. Things for both the adults and the kids. Even if they are too small for the large slides, they have whole sections of kiddie slides that will keep them entertained.

I know see everyone brought up all the things I was thinking. My DH have been to Atlantis twice before kids. Like Atlantis and always said we would take our kids there but not "crazy" about Bahamas. We are totally Disney people. Which is why we considered it. And still are. But I'm worried it will be unbearable. But I'm confused. I've always wanted to go to Bermuda. Always! And this is to sort of also celebrate our 10th anniversary but I'm worried there isn't enough for the kids. However we are ALWAYS on the run and I would love a little "down time". So in a way a beach and pool sounds lovely! I would do Aruba but the price I'm getting for airfare for the week we want to go is through the roof!! So therefore it's out. Beaches Turks and Caicos was insanely priced imo and I hear mixed reviews.

Bermuda looks really boring for that long. Atlantis looks nice, but I wouldn't want to do that for a 7 days. I would pick Disney, but I would stay at the Yacht/Beach Club and relax by their awesomely fantastic pool a lot!

I hear you on the heat in Disney. I am a teacher but we still never go in the summer because I am too afraid I would be miserable.
I might try the summer, though, if we were staying on the monorail. Being within monorail/walking distance to at least some parks would make it so much easier to go back for the afternoon break which would be essential in the summer.
Can you do a long weekend in Bermuda just the two of you then do a separate (and shorter if necessary) trip to Disney?

I would do Disney but not make all the days park days, have a few days just to hang out by the pool at the resort and relax

I say Atlantis only because I personally would never attempt Disney anytime after March or before September.

Re: What would you pick? Disney vs Atlantis vs Bermuda
Been to both in May/June.
June is Bahamas rainy season. I traveled in May & had a solid week of rain. As other posters mentioned, check height restrictions. Food is also ridiculously priced. Hotel looks nice, but was terribly mismanaged. I would not go back.
Bermuda is lovely & is mostly pool/beach. I could have spent 3 days in horseshoe beach & thought it was lovely.
I love Disney, but stay off property. Have you considered Universal? Maybe break up your stay to half universal, half Disney. It is nicer to travel in Spring, but summer is not that bad.

see how much flighs are to dubai. free access to waterpark if you stay at a jumeirah resort. Theres also an atlantis there and a ton of inexpensive activities. Its amazing for families. Indoor mall with skiing, aquarium and penguin encounter, too!

I wish.. I can't cruise. I get awful motion sickness. Even though I know your chances are less on those ships I get it really bad and wouldn't even risk it.

I get motion sickness very bad as well. We did a 3 day Disney cruise and then 4 days @ Disney in October 2014. I got the patch. It helped a LOT. The MD told me to fill the script and try it out before cruising since it can make some people worse.
That said - I've been to Disney in June and August (even though I swore I would never go in August). The key to being there in the hot months is to get to the park at rope drop, ride what you want to ride, and get out by 1:00pm. If you can, eat lunch back at the hotel instead of the park, unless you have a reservation for table service. Then, after lunch, nap or swim (or both), and head back to the park for dinner and more rides.

I would do a Disney cruise and a couple days at WDW either before or after. This is what we're doing in May with our 3 kids. We did Disney last year and don't feel like doing that again this year. So this combination gave us everything we wanted. New family experience being on a cruise Disney resort 2 nights with 1 MK day Not being in 1 place too long because we like to be on the move. Still getting to relax and not having to be on the move all the time

Re: What would you pick? Disney vs Atlantis vs Bermuda
I was going to chime in with a cruise too. My daughter & i both get motion sickness, but in my 6 cruises l've been sick once & that was in a hurricane. My daughter has been on 1 & felt slightly queasy (not enough to stop her from sucking down an endless stream of ice cream!) for about an hour when we first sailed but as soon as she acclimated I didn't hear another word. I hear Disney cruises are amazing & Carnival was great with kids. Bonine & motion patches may help too.
From your options, I'm not sure I'm brave enough for Disney in summer. The heat & crowds I loved Disney but I don't think I could handle high season. Early May suited me just fine.
I've done day trips to Atlantis from cruises twice- the 2nd being last month with the kids. They did love it there. As mentioned there is a height requirement for the water rides which you want to consider being there 7 days. We stuck to beach & aquarium & The Dig for that reason as my little guy is teetering on that mark. I'm over the Bahamas, but I don't think Atlantis is a bad choice at all.
I've never been to Bermuda, but have heard such amazing things so that would be my choice. But I'm biased because I like to explore new places.

Re: What would you pick? Disney vs Atlantis vs Bermuda
My answer changed after reading the comments. Is this for your 10 year? If so, choose the place you and DH really want to visit. We did the same, and the kids may not be so so thrilled but it's for our anniversary. It will be fun for your kids wherever they are!
If you get motion sickness, be careful with cruise. I was quite sick for 2 days on a cruise ship, most people didn't feel anything. I was green and losing my cookies.

Re: What would you pick? Disney vs Atlantis vs Bermuda
what about one of the family club meds? Punta Cana and Guadaloupe have childrens clubs.
There's plenty for the kids to do and you still have beach time...and you can get some time to yourselves
