What window treatment...........

I want to toss my vertical blinds so desperately!!!!!!!!!

The problem I am having is that dh wants either a shade or blind for privacy on each separate window.

I do not have enough space for a flush inside mount and barely have enough space for a reg inside mount.

I would like to have a shade or blind and put curtains on the smaller window and pulled aside.

I am also not sure how long the curtains should be and if it is okay that they rest against or in front of my baseboard heaters.

I would do something like this:

add a bamboo pull down shade with curtains hung high and wide over the windows
