i know there's a million window treatment posts, but i just don't know what is nice and what is dorky!

i'm getting some windows replaced next week and need to get treatments. it's 2 windows in the bedroom, a large window in the dining room and a sliding glass door.

do we get blinds? verticals? curtains? blinds and curtains? wood? vinyl? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon i have NO IDEA what is considered "normal" and what is outdated and dorky!

please help because i'm decorating challenged! Chat Icon

I personally like mini blinds with curtains (sheer, panels on sides and sometimes a valance)

NO verticals PLEASE. so 80's. horizontal treatments w/ either valance, panels or both. take a look at the window treatment pics on hgtv.com
