what week did you stop working?

im trying to decide how long before your due date is a good time to begin to stay home.

I lucked out and finish summer school on Friday. Baby is coming the first week of September. If that were not the case, I'd be forced to go until I truly couldn't do it anymore or until I was told to stop.

With DS, I pretty much worked until the end! I was due on a Monday and stopped working the Friday before my due date. I gave birth on my actual due date. I will say that at the time, I lived about 5 blocks from work so I walked there and back every day. If I was commuting by train/subway, I may have stopped a few days earlier.

With both my pregnancies my doctor made me stop working.

With DD she had me stop at 38 weeks.

With DS I had some major complications at the end so she wanted me out at 35 weeks but I stayed until 36. Then I had him at 37.

I also commuted to NYC everyday and was on my feet all day because I am a teacher.

I plan on working until the end or at least as long as my body allows me to.

I think I would go crazy sitting home waiting for something to happen and IMO, I would rather save the time for when the baby is born.

I don't commute far though, about 20 min's tops and my job is actually closer to the hospital then my house is.

With DS I worked till the end. Left work on a Friday had him on Sunday. With 2 weeks to go with my second I'm hoping to do the same. I'd rather save the time for my DC comes.

Pregnancy #1, worked until 40 weeks at work and worked until the baby was born (42 weeks) from home.

Pregnancy #2 (twins), worked until 34/35 weeks at work. Stopped going in due to pre-term labor. Worked from home until the day they were born (36w6d) and am actually still working a little from home (emails, conf calls).

I work(ed) PT until last week. I am scheduled for a csection next week. I am 38w3d

I worked until the bitter end.
I didn't have enough paid time off to waste time sitting home before the baby came.
I gave birth on a Tuesday- that Monday I worked from home- only because I was having some contractions that day.

My last day is when I "turn" 39 weeks. I am working at home after that so I don't have to use leave. If working at home wasn't an option, I would hoof it to work every day that I could to save leave...

I am 38 1/2 weeks and I turn 39 weeks on Friday. Thursday is my last day of work

I plan on working right till the end, if I can! Only problem is that I have an hourlong commute (in the opposite direction of my house than the hospital is) so that makes me a little nervous but I really want to save every day I can for after! I'm due 9/1, so I'm planning for my last day in the office to be 8/27.

I will work as long as I can before the doctor stops me (I travel for work and then train so am on my feet 8 hours a day min so I'm going to just see how far I get) but i would ideally like to work as long as i can to get my time on the other side. .

With both PG's, I worked until VERY end! Didn't want to waste any time.

I worked until my due date. I ended up being 6 days late and those days were SOOOOOO LONG, every day I wished I was still working!

Working to the very end! But I don't plan to come back after thanksgiving. I am going to work from home after then until arrives probably.

I just realized that baby Carlos is due on my B-Day!!!

i work in an office, so my job is NOT strenuous. I'm 39 weeks today and still working. Thankfully i am to work 1-2 days a week from home.

I'm hoping to work right up until I give birth- I work about 15 minutes from my house & the hospital and sit at a desk most of the day- so hopefully it will work out

I want to spend as much time with my lo when he/she arrives as possible!

My EDD is 12/29, so I'm hoping I can work up until the Xmas holidays, then not have to come back in between Xmas and New Years (if I haven't given birth yet). Sometimes my office closes during that time. I'm hoping for that so I wouldn't have to use more time. But I guess it really depends on my progress. If nothing is going on and the office is open, I may be trekking in (I have an hour + commute) that week.

I am due in 2 days and I am still working. I am feeling good and my job is flexible and letting me work until I have the baby.
I don't want to waste one day before she comes!

With DD, I stopped at 36 weeks. This time I am going to try and go up until my c-section date. I was soooo bored the first time. Everything was all set up and I had weeks to go and I couldn't drive anymore, so I was stuck home doing nothing because everyone else was working.
