What was your style like in JHS and HS?
PIMP thinking about what I must have looked like. These were the late 80's into the early 90's.
In jr. high I was a preppy poser. LOL I liked the look but it was never me. LOL I remember wearing a pink tutle neck and navy blue dockers with copper penny loafers with a penny in them. That was the style that year.
In late jr high into High School I was a guidette. My hair was so frea*kin high and I wore jewlery galor. I wore the the guido pants with all the crazy designs on them. They were kind of pajama looking. Of course I had my Z cavaricci's. I had a huge name plate that said Sicilian Princess. I'm hysterical laughing right now.
Then toward the end of HS, the high hair was played out very much so I ended that. I cut bangs and wore my hair 1/2 up 1/2 down. I put my name plate in the draw and wore rosary beads instead. It was the style. I wore red lipstick, champion sweatshirts, baggy jeans, grafitti jeans, and sneakers. Oh and my sneakers always had to match my outfir. Basically my wardrobe was baggy jeans and hoodies like a TLC poser! I wouldn't dare post a pic.
When my Dh see's pictures I think he literally hurts himself from laughing so hard.

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
I cringe looking back on what I wore. When I was in JHS, FLANNEL was in. EEK! I was watching a movie from the early 90's the other day and saw all the teenage girls wearing tight jeans, and an open flannel shirt with a shirt underneath. I hope that NEVER comes back in fashion.
In HS, I don't think that I was that bad. I graduated in 99, so it wasn't that long ago. I did have HUGE platform shoes. I remember that when the Spice Girls came out, all the girls, including me, went out and got those huge platforms. Good God, I'm shocked that I didn't break my ankles!!

This is the exact reason why I refuse to wear these shorts that all the guys are wearing these days. You know, the ones that look like bad golf shorts but somehow are in style. I don't wanna look at pics in ten years like I look at the 80's and be like, "OMG, what was I wearing!"

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
Junior high I was preppy until the end of 9th grade. Then I got into punk and alternative (lol) music and shaved my hair underneath, and dyed the rest purple or pink or red. I wore Doc Martens with plaid tights and ripped jeans or shorts. Flannels sometimes, but usually black most of the time.
I did this through to the end of high school. I was one of the "freaks" and hung out with them and the burn outs in the woods.

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
oh boy!
I really went with the "trends" for my JHS and HS
Jr high was preppy
then we transitioned in to flannels- PUKE
then I was a bit of a hippie - berks, overalls
until my senior year when I was working at a ski shop and the manager (a 30 year old woman) pulled me aside one day and told me to STOP hiding my body and dress more like a girl
I took her advice - and haven't looked back since

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
In JHS I was preppy with those white v neck sweaters and boat shoes. In early HS, I wore flannels over t-shirts and stonewash jeans.

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
Junior high I lived in So. Cal so everyone wore skate or surf brands. I had a lot of Billabong and Quiksilver tees. Oh, and everyone wore Umbro shorts all the time.
High school and college I wore preppy.

Oh Lordy....
In JHS it was all about champion sweatshirts layered over really long t-shirts...and white ked sneakers...cocacola rugby shirts too...A ton of hairspray..and that frosted pink lipstick.
HS....Big John Jeans...and I think they were called ID shirts??? Pink blue plaid shirts layered over white tshirts...work boots...those white fringe boots...those huge freakin socks...cavariccis....that's all I remember..HS is kind of foggy.

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
Jr High I went to catholic school. It was mostly uniforms and I had not too much fashion sense. I wore big baggy t-shirts. Styled bangs and winged out sides. Big hoop earrings and cut off shorts. I also had this big sunflower hair tie!!! And the mini backpacks. ( I think that might have been early high school too.)
High school.. Flannels with jeans with holes in it. Flannel baby doll dresses. I also tried that style with velvet blazers with flowey blouses coming out of the cuffs and menswear pinstripe pants with suspenders and a cropped vest (LOVED THAT OUTFIT!!) Summers were tight short shorts and belly showing shirts or tanks. The shorter the better!!! Good I with I had that body now!!! Late high school was just jeans and baby tees most of the time. I had a lot of sweaters also. I guess kind of preppy.
Early College was my hippie faze. I wore hemp a lot of hemp. It lasted about a year.

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
I never had a real style. I tried on some trends - but I was never (and still am not) a fashion plate!
In JHS I know I wore 'new age' kind of punk looks sometimes. My ID card in 9th grade has me with this weird fauxhawk looking ponytail.. I was probably wearing a banana clip. I remember wearing super thick cords that were SKIN TIGHT in JHS. I also remember almost busting out of a pair of super tight Gloria Vanderbilt black jeans in 7th or 8th grade. They had JUST come out. At some point during those years I remember wearing a lot of Madonna-ish stuff. Shirts with lace backs, big belts over my hips, rubber bracelets, etc.. I also wore a lot of "Genie" pants. I liked envelope jeans, Baggies. I did have Cavaricci's and Capezios at some point. I also remember wearing weird stuff and I don't know where I got some of it. I had poet shirts, a 40 style pencil skirt that I was in love with, a Halston wrap dress that I stole from my sister, 4 inch Candies slip ons, etc. I think my 'uniform' in the latter years of high school was oversized oxfords shirts (plain white) or a big sweater from my dad's closet and jeans.

Uhhhh.....these women were my fashion IDOLS in HS:
"I've been livin' on the edge of a broken heart...."
I loved Spit, February's/Hammerheads, L'Amore.
On the flip side, I was also totally into Freestyle music too.
Needless to say, I definitely did NOT fit in with the preppy crowd at my Catholic high school.

I have proof:
(sorry sis)
(though I have to admit this photo was my first year of college)
I was confused in HS... I was 1/2 *guidette*: big hair, listened to freestyle, 1/2 *hoodie*:... listened to hip hop, wore the baggy pants, flannel shirts and a beeper..

Lemme guess.... you have the ones with the thigh highs, don't you.
Poor Mom and Dad- they must've been cringing everytime we left the house (you dressed like a wh*re too remember....).

Re: What was your style like in JHS and HS?
In JHS I was too poor to have a style. I just wore whatever was handed to me. In HS my Mom let me charge clothes on her CC and I was urban street (Cross Colors, Tommy Hilfiger etc.-- too expensive) in 9th and 10th and then total grunge in 11th and 12th.

I never had a good sense of style... How come that IS... when mommy has such a great eye for fashion.
