My mom's carrot cake baking. Always reminds me of our traditional thanksgivings that my mom makes. Certain smells remind me of my grandmother's apartment, although I can not pin-point exactly what it is. Of course, the smell of new plastic (backpacks, school bags), always brings me back to elementary school.

Baby powder reminds me of my childhood because this little girl next door to me would always take the baby powder and throw it in the air and tell everyone it was snowing in the middle of july and guess what we all believed her..... wow those were the days!

Spaghetti sauce simmering reminds me of Sundays after church.
BBQ chicken reminds me of the night before the first day of school. My mom would always make bbq chicken while we took our baths and took our nail polish from the summer off.
Lysol original scent...she sprayed this on our sheets all the time and just brings back childhood memories.
Brownies baking..always reminded me of freezing, cold nights when she would open the oven and pop in brownies while we did our homework or played a board game.
The scent of smell is so strong and always brings back the most wonderful memories!

me too, I won't even realize that a certain scent will evoke a memory until it happens and then takes me right back.
But I can think of three-
Aramis Cologne- reminds me of going to family occasions as a child. Its the only time my father would wear it.
Sauteeing onions and butter - my father making stuffing for thanksgiving on turkey day eve.
Peppermint Life Savers - Still my favorite they remind me of my grandmothers purse. She would always sneak us some and when she gave me her hankerchief it always smelled like the mints. I remember there wasn't much else in there either, maybe a lipstick, a few bucks in a change purse, and rosary beads.
makes me wonder why I need all the crap I carry around in my own bag.

Fluffer-nutters! Mom would only buy fluff once in a blue moon, she didn't like letting me ingest that much sugar regularly. 
Also, the smell of Pledge. Mom did all her cleaning on Saturday mornings.
Ditto for sauce and meatballs.
And coal. We had a coal-burning stove in our living room. I loved falling asleep on the floor in front of it.

woodstove fires... my parents house for the first few years we lived in it was heated only by woodstove... and even after they got a furnace put in, my dad still makes woodstove fires all the time in the winter... so now that i moved out whenever i walk or drive past a hosue that has a woodstove fire going, it reminds me of home

There's probably tons of things but LIME is what popped into my head first. When my sister & I were little we were playing supermarket with a neighbor and his mother had a lime tree. We were "ringing up" the limes but shooting them down the slide of his play set.

looks like we all have similar memories, this makes me want to be 10 again, the food cooking, my mom;s old perfume (Charlie), clean laundry (my MOm always got it to smell soooo good), and Baby Soft perfume remember it? I may b aging myself here, it was pink perfume in a clear bottle with a white rounded top)
