Giving the Jeep its first vote! We have the Patriot which is basically the same as the Compass just with a little more cargo room. It's definitely more affordable than the others you've quoted-we paid under $21k including tax. It drives great, is much comfier than I expected, and is at least partly American made.

love love love my ford edge. i have driven a ford escape as well and i hated it. the edge is so much more comfy and rides smoothly. TONS of space as well.
