Re: what pharmacies do you use

You may want to check with your prescription plan. I was only allowed to use Freedom Pharmacy for my meds. Strictly mail order.

Re: what pharmacies do you use

Check with the RE or your insurance.....I had to use a special Fertility Pharmacy in my area. Which was good because that's ALL they do. Chat Icon

I used Rockville Centre and had no problems. Many of the fertility pharmacies deliver right to your door. Check your insurance to make sure they don't require a particular pharmacy.

ETA: Rockville Center is fine for the Empire Plan for NYS employees.

I used Kraupners a few times and had nothing but problems. It was impossible to get a direct answer from them and I always had to call them back to confirm. I picked up a RX from RVC pharmacy once, and they were great!

Re: what pharmacies do you use

Where do you live? Stony Brook Pharmacy carries everything. I used them all the time except for once when hcg was backordered and then it was delivered from Kraupner's.

ETA: most pharmacies can order anything for you if you have a few days for them to get it in.
I know Walmart has a department that handles all speciality presctiptions, you have to call them.
Also check and see if your insurance company has mail-order.

I use The Chemist Shop - it's a few blocks away from Grand Central Station. It's a very small shop and the pharmacist is a really nice guy.

I too have used Stony Brook and Freedom Pharmacy. I found Freedom Pharmacy to be really helpful.

Re: what pharmacies do you use

I've used Kraupner. I only had to use them once and they were ok. For IVF I will be using Medco for meds that are covered (I have to use mail order per my insurance plan). I will be using Kraupner for meds that are not covered.

Oh don't feel bad about not knowing...I was like what do you mean I have to use some pharmacy in Bklyn I never heard of Chat Icon

I've been using either Kraupner or Stonybrook and have had no problems with either.
Kraupner delivers so don't be thrown off by the location.

I have used them several times (last time being tonight when my three huge bags of IVF Meds came!)

they are busy and have had to wait a while sometimes when calling them to find out my copay and to get delivery timeframe but they have really be great. Some poor guy actually delivered me my meds on x-mas eve!!!

Do you live in the city or on the island? I wonder if you could just pick them up from the pharmacy on the way home from work?

My insurance requires that I use Freedom Pharmacy. I have NEVER had a problem. They are great and deliver to your house or work. If you are not home and don't want a work delivery you can deliver to a Kinkos store. That's what I did. Good Luck!

Re: what pharmacies do you use

So far I've used CVS for my clomid and ovidrel. My first ovidrel prescription was delivers from Kraupner's cause I needed that day, but the second time was from CVS since I didn't need it right away.

i'm not sure about who will deliver or has the specific meds you need, but if i still lived on Long Island - i'd still be using the Medicine Shoppe.

I have had so many great experiences there. The one i used to go to had the same staff for like 10 years and they became like family...but i'm not the healthiest person there is.

Most (if not all) "regular" pharmacies do not readily carry fertility meds. They would have to order for you, and I know (based on my own experience), it can take up to 4 weeks to get what you need. There are specialty pharmacies that carry ONLY fertility meds, and will have them to you the following day.
