I left the YMCA this morning in Bay Shore and they were discussing about making it a Red Cross location. I have to say most people i have encountered today (with 2 exceotions , cuz ;)
are not giving this a second thought....
That YMCA is so close to the water.. I'm surprised they would think of having it as a crisis center!

I am in Stony Brook, 5 min from Setauket so it's looking like I am getting a direct hit. Oh joy!

we just received the phone call from Nassau County:
Anyone north of 25 or south of sunrise needs to "consider evacuating"
Where are you getting the North of 25 info from. Nass co website says south of sunrise.

I'm flipping! My father lives in Pt. Jeff literally at the edge of the Sound. I'm in Northern NJ and have been telling him to come to us, and he is being stubborn and won't come.

From Nassau Co? I need to know this as my agency has houses in these areas. Can anyone verify this with a link?

Geez..I'm right by Good Sam!!! We are prepared but now I'm getting scared!!!!!
Just remember that the reason they evacuate hospitals is that those patients need machines and assistance that needs electricity.
If there is a power outage it could be a huge problem for an ICU paitent or someone on life support machines.
Don't freak out too much about the hospitals evacuating.
