"my bonny lies over the ocean" or is that considered a nursery song? i also sing some Irish folk songs to her that she seems to really like.

We found out by accident that she LOVES the acoustic version. It came on in the car one day when she was crying, and it completely quieted her! Now I sing it to her all the time

Close to You by the Carpenters. She'll be 2 next month and can now sing all the words herself. I remember rocking her as a newborn singing that

made up songs and tons of Billy Joel. DS is probably so confused at the number of times I have suddenly just sang out. "Mama Leone left a note on the door, she said, 'Sonny, move out the the country.'" He seems to like Movin' Out so thats my answer for this question.

I haven't done it in a LONG time, but when DS was an infant, Amy Whinehouse's "Rehab" was "our" song. She performed it at the Music awards show (2007) and I fell in love with it. Every time it was on the radio I'd turn it up and sing along. I ended up buying the CD and kept it in the car. Whenever DS would get upset, I'd put it on and BAM- he'd stop crying!!

I make up songs all the time, I now have a few made up songs that have become standards, LOL
I also sing "In My Life" by the Beatles as part of his bedtime routine as soon as I start singing it he snuggles his head into me and smiles
We have some fun songs that I can distract him with if he has gotten upset, I use the Erie Canal Song and the theme song to Little Einsteins

Yes, me too! ITS HORRIBLE! I sound like Will Ferrell making up stupid songs
After reading this thread, I started singing the golden girls theme song (the only one i can sing) and DD loves it
Gotta find more songs to sing

I've been loving you too long, otis redding, I've got dreams to remember....otis redding. Ds could be having a needle stuck in his eye and if I start singing either of these he hums and falls asleep.
