 | Starting to "feel" pregnant.... Yesterday I felt off, a little lightheaded and dizzy, plus I felt nauseous on and off all day. Last night I started dry heaving, but nothing was coming up (sorry if TMI). Today, I feel alittle better but I am trying to eat lunch and the thought of eating makes me sick. And it's linguini w/broccoli, garlic, and oil something I ususally love!!!! DH tells me there is a reason women have babies, and not men, b/c they couldnt handle it. Geez...I hope I can. |

 | Re: Starting to "feel" pregnant.... take it easy, eat what you can. For 10 weeks I lived on nothing but plain carbs. Drink liquids in this heat though, that's important.
Your husband sounds like he is going to be very supportive, that is a great thing. I could not cook or grocery shop.

 | Re: Starting to "feel" pregnant.... I totally know what you are going through. I had the dry heaves as well. I drank a lot of selter and that helped a lot. Any foods that gave an after taste like garlic and onions I couldn't eat. Hang in there it will pass! |

 | Re: Starting to "feel" pregnant.... also, you maybe giving up soda, or cutting back...in the mornings, gingerale was the best thing for my commute.
I hope you don't get to this point, but I found vomiting with no liquids in my stomach was the worst. Liquids made it so much easier and quicker to throw up at work.

I bet DH is very grateful that

DH is right!! Don't worry, you'll be just fine. I know the first few weeks are tough, but you will get through it!! Just hang on
. By the time you get to 12 or 13 weeks it should start getting better. I found eating pretzels and drinking ginger ale or watered down OJ helped the nausea. Just remember to eat slowly, and grazing all day instead of 3 meals also helps. Try to always keep food in your stomach. Feel better!!! Message edited 8/1/2006 1:54:29 AM. |

 | Re: Starting to "feel" pregnant.... I had the nausousness every morning, then to top it off got hit with a 4 day stomach virus and people getting on my back about eating and I didnt even want to look at food. I did make sure I stayed hydrated lots of water, some gatorade, gingerale. I would eat a bagel or saltines.
It will get better. I am 14 weeks now and I do promise, it gets better.
