What items are unique to LI?
I'm trying to figure out if there are certain items out there that are only available in/on LI/NY? Like Wine, Clothing, Jewelry, etc?
Thanks so much. All ideas welcome!
Ok, correction, any NON food/wine items???

There are certain brands of wine you can only get on LI...
As for NY - I am assuming you are talking metro NY. There are things you CAN get elsewhere but wouldn't want to, like pizza and bagels.

only thing i ever hear about are mothers with college aged children who have a specific food that they like that they bring to them when visitin.. otherwise i never heard of anything unique from long island.

Outside of wine and food, I don't know that there really is anything beyond little models of the Montauk Lighthouse or the Big Duck or whatever, you know?
It's not like we have a unique breed of sheep that produce some amazing wool or a rare precious or semi-precious stone that can be worked into jewelry to make it LI specific.

Anything can be shipped, so LI wine, duck, fish, etc. can be obtained anywhere, technically.

We have several local Native American tribes, so I'm sure their jewelry, clothing, etc. is unique.

I can't think of any location on Earth that won't export their goods. LIke, nantucket reds and Black Dog stuff- you can buy them online.

This is a good one! People from out of state (even upstaters) are in awe when they see a Dairy Barn and find out that it's basically a drive-thru grocery store!

I love Dairy Barn more than anything in the whole world!!! What other grocery store can you shop out without wearing pants? None I tell you! NONE!!!
