What is your favorite poor man's food?
In honor of gas prices and our current economy!!
In other words what do you love to make when you are broke or the cabinets are just empty because you ned to food shop that you acutally love to eat?
For me:
Snack: Cinnamon Toast (I am sitting here broke, eating this and thinking, Why don't I have this more often?)
Meal: Brinner a.k.a. Breakfast for dinner.
My mom was a single mom of four and when money got tight she used to make home fetticini noodles and alfredo sauce.. yum. It is all the staples you usaully have in the house!

def. breakfast food for dinner quick and easy for the days I get home late.

Mac and cheese, grilled cheese, breakfast for dinner, Toast or a English muffin or a bagel with a little butter or margarine and fresh cheese on top with a tomato slice, home made tuna salad,egg salad, pasta and sauce, hamburger helper.

jiffy's pizza crust! comes out so good! for 48 cents
crack open a can of sauce...99 cents
and a little cheese...
pizza for 2.50.

Lenders bagels or english muffins
Mini pizzas (on english muffins , pitas or tortillas)

these are all the ones i was going to say
i make ham, eggs and cheese all the time w/ toast... and some nights its for dinner when my pocketbook is kind of empty, because we usually have cold cuts in the house.
