That I am a Spanish girl with no education.
Most people that don't really know me assume that because I work for a small company doing bookeeping, I just had on the job training thru the years. I am a college graduate who took this job to be closer to home ( I worked in NYC until July), and thank g0d, dh makes a very good salary. Once we have children, I don't think I will ever work full time. People at work just assume that we are a struggling couple that lives hand to mouth. Not that we're millionares, but we do ok for ourselves.

i think that other LIFers think that i'm a loud preachy bytch.... but once they meet me they (hopefully) see i am not like that at all.
as for people i meet in everyday life? i have absolutely no idea.

I am italian, irish and catholic- and g-d made my nose!
Beth I get the same thing.
Ok so I am Jewish but my nose is made by G-d as well and not by the famous Dr. Diamond who did all of the noses of my classmates in high school in the 80s.

Me too. I am constanty getting proofed for scratch off's and liquor. I went out to dinner w/my parents asked for a cocktail and got proofed.
Other misconceptions people have about me are I care when on the phone and I ask a customer "how are you today" I really dont care that you stubbed your toe and chipped your nail polish and now need to go to the nail salon to get it fixed.
I'm nice. That is my favorite. Everyone at work thinks I am this innocent nice person but press my buttons and they have no clue whats in store.
I'm a good girl.  Those who know me well know the truth

I too have gotten the nose job question a lot-- and yes, I am a Jew but did not inherit any bad noses and have an au natural cute little nose.

People usually assume I am a lot younger than I am, and can't believe that I am married, own a house, etc... and people also assume I am not smart when in reality I am very nerdy.

Yup... I always have to remember my license when I go to buy scratch-offs b/c 95% of the time I get carded or I get a look like I shouldn't be buying them.
The best is when i'm at the casinos and the security guards coming running up to me like they caught me (thinking i'm underage gambling) and when I show them my ID they are shocked!! I always have to get the big red "over 21" stamp on my hand.

That I am a morbid & weird person (because people think I "touch dead people all day), that I make a HUGE salary and that I am a cold person (that I forget about everything when I leave work & that I must put on an act to do what I do).
I would not go far in my profession if that were the case. I actually spend about 95% of my working day wth families who have lost someone, caring for them, being sure they make it through one of the most difficult days of their lives. I actually REALLY care about the people I am taking care of, I treat them the same way I would want to be treated. When I do work on the deceased peson, I feel good ecause I can make them look so much better, taking away years of sickness.
And the money thing.....many people seem to think funeral directors make so much $. If you are the boss or management, yes....but I make a normal salary reflecting the work I do.

That Im not as smart as I am.
i waited a long time to go to college, changed my major a few times and am back in school. its a money issue, nothing else....But I have always been a 4.0 student, loved school and been very smart.
Sometimes people see the job Im in and dont realize or underestimate me .....
And also that Im younger then I am.
Im 31 and people think Im around 24 or 25 all the time.
