What is it with August 13th??
is this a terrible day? did something happen that I dont know about? It falls on a Saturday this year and 95% of the catering halls have this date open.

I agree with the number 13.
It's way hotter in July.
In August I always have to heat my pool, it gets cooler so I don't think it's a heat thing

ALTHOUGH... back a million years ago when i got married... that october had a friday the 13th and people were falling all over each other to book venues.
go figure. the world of weddings is so strange.

When I was a wedding planner, people were unusually reticent about August in particular - it's not really any hotter, but they had it in their heads that it was.
The 13th was never an issue - even if it was Friday the 13th it was booked.
Now September 11th on the other hand, we would practically give away. No one touched it with a 10 foot pole.

Did you look at Hudson Terrace?
i think it was the 1st place I emailed but from what I remember, party must be done by 9 or 10pm? i just emailed them again

thats the day i got married! and let me tell you, it was gorgeous on my wedding day (i got married outside with a cocktail outside as well!) every anniversary we spend at the beach and we love it.

All i know is by august i need a sweatshirt at the beach in the early mornings. And I start complaining!
Mornings and evenings are definitely cooler in august- ESPECIALLY as you hit mid month.
