We loved the disney cruise, but I didn't find it very relaxing. That might be because we did 3 days at disney, then a 4 day cruise. It was a lot of running around, unpacking then packing then unpacking again for 4 kids. We will do it again but it will be when my youngest two are old enough for the clubs, and we will just do a longer cruise with no disney world tacked on.
We did the same but mentally I separate them in to 2 trips. Disney world was nuts with my 5yo and 2yo (first trip for 2yo and it was too overwhelming for him) Our first 2 trips to WDW with just DS1 were so much more relaxing than our last trip there.
But the cruise was super relaxing for us.

What has been your best family vacation so far?
We usually do 10 days in Myrtle Beach in the summer and the kids love it. Unfortunately, we can't go this year because our schedules don't line up. DS 1 is upset and keeps on talking about it non stop!

To me, nothing beats an all inclusive with little ones... Not having to drive anywhere to go eat... Having someone cook for you... To go back to the room easily for naps... To come and go as you please between the beach and pool... Just a nice relaxing vacation!
ETA: we've only done that once with dd... Went to dreams la Romana in DR when she turned 1... Had a very nice trip! I agree. We went to Riviera Maya last year and had a great time!

What has been your best family vacation so far?
DS is only 2.5 and we've only done two vacations with him, but we absolutely loved Hilton Head Island, SC. We stayed at the Disney Vacation Club resort and had an awesome time!

What has been your best family vacation so far?
So far it's PA-Lancaster/Dutch wonderland. I think in a year or so a beach destination will definitely be our favorite.
I like that we pack the car and go. No airplanes to deal with. It's a relatively short trip. We plan on 2 mornings at Dutch Wonderland, lunch, nap time and then either relax at the pool in the afternoon or plan something else.
When I was a kid I used to love going to the outer banks. My parents would rent a house for a week or 2 with friends. It was always a blast.
Travel time is big for us. I think eventually I want to rent a place on FI for a week and do that.

We honestly live going to our timeshare in Orlando. We only do one park, one day and spend the rest of our time at the pool.
this is how I want to do Disney, my parents have a condo in Ft Lauderdale and we go a couple times a year, I want to go for a week, drive to Orlando for a night and do a park, I cant picture doing the crazy week at Disney
Our fav trips have been to my parents condo but we are going to Jamaica in April so I think that will be a new fave

Re: What has been your best family vacation so far?
DS is 3... we adopted him, so hes been with us for 19 months.
we've gone to the outer banks (my parents have a house there), we rented an RV to go camping in upstate NY and Vermont, a cruise on the NCL Breakaway, and just went to Disney the end of February. they were all great in different ways. outer banks was nice and relaxing and we were with my whole family so we had lots of babysitters LOL the RV was probably DS's favorite! He got a kick out of sleeping in a vehicle HAHA and he loved the campgrounds with the playgrounds, peddling his little bike around, roasting marshmallows. The cruise was great, too because everything was right there, didn't have to think about anything! He loved swimming, the mini ropes course on the ship, etc. Disney was fun, but honestly was probably my least favorite. It was too overwhelming for DS I think and he quite a few meltdowns. I think we pushed it a little bit too much. My parents went with us and they hadn't been in 10 years, so they had things they wanted to see, we had things we wanted to see with DS... I think we'll go back in a few years when hes a little bit older and he'll have a better time.

We go to Disney a lot (which is also a fav. of my kids). Last month we spent 7 nights in Orlando, did 2 days at Disney parks, and 2 days at Universal parks. Spent the rest of the time at the pool, mini golf, etc. It was great.

We haven't done anything too crazy but some memorable trips have been Kennebunkport Maine and Lancaster.
