What formula are you using?
I was just wondering what formula everyone is using. I'm hoping to breastfeed but if it doesn't work out I would like to know what everyone is using. Back when I had my daughter 3 years ago similac was huge. I have been out of the loop for awhile and wondering what is out there
TIA Denise

Re: What formula are you using?
we tried similac advance with my son and then went to good start and ended up with Alimentum (milk protein intolerance).
we will also start with similac advance. i like the options for how it comes vs. all others and our ped suggests it

Re: What formula are you using?
We're using Enfamil right now but might be switching to Gerber. I think they are all relativly the same, you just see what your baby can tolerate.
In the hospital(stony brook) they gave my DS Similac in the L&D room(we had major sugar issues) and then switched to enfamil when he was in the NICU.

What formula are you using?
With DS I started with enfamil (regular first then gentlease), and then changed to Target brand (which is made by the same company who makes babies r us brand, cvs, rite aid, parents choice from Walmart and a TON of others) all formulas are government regulated when it comes to the levels of nutrition that must be included. If you look and do a side by side comparison they are the same as the name brands.

We use similac advance. We started with enfamil but dd did a little better with similac so that's here we've stayed.

This is what DD is on
DS started on Similac, but switched over to Good Start and stuck with it.

What formula are you using?
We use Enfamil Gentlease for DS 2 - for DS 1 we used Similac Sensitive (after using Similac Advance, Enfamil Gentlease and Enfamil Nutramigen).
Similac, Enfamil and Good Start offer RTF and powder options, I'm not sure what the generics offer.

Re: What formula are you using?
I mostly BF but DS (6wks) gets 1-2 formula bottles per day. We use Gerber Good Start Gentle. This was recommended to me by a LC a few years ago. She said it is the closest to breastmilk. (Not sure if that is still the case.) DS has no problem going from BF to the formula. They make ready to feed bottles, but my hospital (Winthrop) only had Enfamil or Similac . We didn't start formula until week 4 anyway. Good luck!

enfamil does also but i found it easier to buy similac in RTF bottles, they were cheaper at BJ's.

Re: What formula are you using?
Similac organic....only b/c its what she started on. But we also use similac advance rtf when we're out....
(I'm thinking the organic piece is a crock in this formula...?)

I plan to use Good Start like we did with Tommy 3 years ago. My ped said it was closest to breast milk.

I dont understand this statement. Can anyone explain further? My ped said they're basically all the same since they have the same ratios of fat carbs etc. so how is one closer to BM than another?
