What does your DH do to help make your life easier?

What does your DH do (can be regarding kids, household chores, anything) that makes your life easier?

anything I ask actually.

But:
he gets up with DS in the middle of the night (if he gets up)

Lets me sleep if I want to

Will give DS a bath if I ask.

Cleans the kitchen after dinner b/c I cook every night.

Will help clean the house when needed..

Really..anything.

DH does all our laundry, i do DS's laundry. We take turns making the food and cups for DS to take to daycare the next day.

other than that i have to ask for him to do things, but he usually will. at almost 20 months, DH JUST started giving DS a bath!

ETA he takes DS to daycare on the mornings he does not have school.

he does my laundry on the weekends.

that is the one thing he does that is FOR me. that takes away something that I would have to do, but has nothing to do with anyone else.

but more globally, he is involved in our son, which is for his and my son's benefit but makes my life so much easier in many ways.

like every night after work, they go out and play in the park. I can cook, clean up, put away clothes and not feel badly for not spending time with the baby.

that is HUGE HUGE HUGE and benefits all of us as a family.

Working as hard as he does to give me the opportunity to be a SAHM makes my life much easier! IDK how you FTWM do it all!!

Im' a FTWM. Dh is pretty hands on. I take care of mornings - getting DD up and ready and off to the sitter - since he's gone by 4:30AM.

He picks DD up at the sitter.
Helps with dinner (for her & us)
He does the laundry and helps straighten up. I do most of the cleaning, but he mops the floors.

Laundry & mopping are 100% his thing. He does help out a lot tho, we work as a team so things get done.

We're a pretty good team when it comes to DS. He's actually super helpful with him, ESPECIALLY since I've been pregnant.

HOWEVER . . .cooking - useless although HE CAN cook though. Cleaning- forget it lol

He is in charge of the yard & garbage, I refuse

I often think about all of the things DH DOESN'T do, but I need to give him more credit for everything that he does for us.

Right now, he's a SAHD (but he's also a contractor) and is an excellent father.
He is so caring and loving to them---that makes my life better!


He also:
---cooks
---does laundry (he doesn't fold it, but something is better than nothing)
---takes the kids for appointments (yesterday he brought them for their 1 year bloodwork----he's still not speaking to me )
---does all yardwork
---fixes stuff around the house

I'm sure there's more things that I am forgetting. Sometimes I need to make more time to show how much I appreciate him.

A lot! We help eachother since we both work full time, I couldn't imagine it any other way.

DH has always been great with DD. We take turns bathing her, he will take her on Sundays for a few hours to give me a break, he cooks and he does laundry. I can't complain. When she was an infant the only thing he didn't do was middle of the night feedings. But that was fine for the most part because I'm a night owl and he's a morning person. He would take her in the morning so I could sleep. We have a pretty good system going on when it comes to parenting...the other things not parenting related not so much But I can't complain.

Right now I am a SAHM.

Something he did Monday night that SHOCKED me was empty out all our luggage (we went to DC/VA for 3 nights).

I cam back sick with a fever, so I was in bed at 8pm along with DD. I woke up to find
He washed all the clothes, put back my makeup, hair stuff, etc. I was really amazed to wake up in the morning and find the luggage emptied out.

Well probably the #1 biggest thing he does to help me is earning enough to let me be a SAHM for the last 5 years-- I took the kids to bowling and then Starbucks this morning, now I'm sipping my coffee with my laptop watching them play, while poor DH missed all this and is stuck in the office

At home though, he really takes over with the kids to give me a break when he gets home in the evening, and on weekends. He also cooks on the weekends and often makes enough to freeze for weeknights. He doesn't do crap in terms of helping with cleaning though, but hey, the only saints are in heaven

He is my equal - he can do anything I can so if two things need to be done (ie. watch the kids and cook dinner) we will each do one thing. He cleans the house as much as I do, changes just as many diapers, and is a SAHD two days a week because of his schedule.

I can't say he makes my life easier in any specific way because it goes both ways. We make each other's lives easier

DH is amazing and will do pretty much anything.

does all the laundry
lets me sleep in on the weekend (but since I WFT I like to get up with DS and cuddle)
gives him dinner every night. WE both get home around the same time and I like to change and get situated
baths him (I'm 9 months pregnant so it's a little harder for me now)
changes any diapers if I ask or on his own

Best was last weekend when my BFF from Chicago came to visit he took care of DS and did the shopping for us girls and our snacks so I can enjoy girl time

He really does everything I do....dinner, baths , cleaning, laundry etc...Dare I say he's better than me at most household chores...LOL

The one thing I loathe doing is washing bottles and every morning before he leaves for work he sets me up for the day with the babies bottles all ready to go

He cooks, cleans, and does laundry pretty often. i do have to ask but he does randomly fold a load, swiffer and or mop, and whip up a meal WITHOUT being asked.

He takes the girls outside often so i can cook, clean, or do laundry without one of them hanging on me.

I sleep in a lot, take a lot of naps, and make him get up in the middle of the night if one of them awakes.

I also leave the house often.... Girls' nights, mani or pedi, or just for an escape without even a whimper or complaint from him so for that alone he is the best

Well since the joke is that he is my wife LOL, he really does everything.

He cooks regularly
He does the laundry when he sees it piling up
He cleans just as much as I do
He shares all responsibilties of our dd including getting her ready in the morning and bringing her to the babysitter.
He handles all the finances
He does the costco trips
And he works a very demanding job with long and weekend hours.

I know this list makes it seem like I do not do much. But I am a teacher and leave the house very early and we basically share all the other responsibilities. We're a good team and when he thanks me for taking such good care of our daughter it makes me feel like I am doing my part

DH takes care of all car maintenance, washing and gets me gas on a regular basis.
He does all the driving.
He does all the banking.
If I ask him to pick something up, he will go to the store before coming home.
If DD wakes up at night and he hears her (or I kick him) he will wake up with her b/c he doesn't see her all day.
Not so much anymore but when I was pumping every few hours he would make sure my little "pumping station" was set up with a drink, snack, the remote, my laptop or kindle.

I think I misread this question. I answered what he does to make MY life easier.

he's very hands on with everything, and we work as a team for the betterment of our life and our sons life...he's just a great father and husband and partner.

but, that being said, he is so handsome that even when he just sits on the couch like a blob, he still makes me life better. a girl can always use some extra eye candy every day

He cooks 75% of the time
He cleans probably 75% of the time
He does the evening routine w/DD everyday (bath, bedtime)
He walks the dogs
He vacuums, does the laundry, yard work
We both do the bills, probably 50/50
He packs lunches

He does a LOT more than me

ETA: And anytime we have to go to a picnic, dinner, potluck etc...He ALWAYS bakes or cooks. He LOVES trying out new recipes

We laughed b/c last week I was watching the NBA finals and he was in the kitchen baking cupcakes

He does a lot for me and he works 60 hrs a week. He wakes up in the middle of the night with dd, does all outdoors work, let's me sleep in on Saturday. He is a good guy I need to give him more credit
