What does everyone use for birth control?

I'm going for my PP checkup tomorrow and I'm not sure what to do. I used to be on the pill years and years ago, but I really didn't like the effects I had on it. I had no sex drive, and was very emotional, and I was on a pretty low dose. So, is there a pill out there where I will not fell these side effects?

I'm on Alesse and my Dr said it's a low dose BP. So much so, that I missed it two days and got pg. I haven't had any emotional problems on it. I think everyone's reaction is different to any BCP, though.

when its time for my 6 week pp check up in early June, I will be considering the UID (either Paraguard or Mirena).

ovcon 35. i love this pill. no side effects, im completely regular. its great.

they just had me on estrostep (a triphasic) and I HATED it.....had breakthrough bleeding, my emotional lows were SO bad, and I've put on 3 lbs and I feel SO puffy.

She just put me on Yaz whici is a low does monophasic

We also use condoms, but not for BC purposes

I was on the BC ring but it made me super emotional and I had my period for over a month straight while on it -- and then stopped using it and my period went away a week later. This was about 3 months ago and I haven't gone back to the dr to ask him for something else since but I really should.

We're not trying to have another one either. I was never on birth control for the 4 years I was dating him.

Well I started wit hthe shot but I started to gain weight with that so then I went to the pat ch but then they took that off the market so now I am on one ofthe many pills

Nothing here either. I haven't been on bcp since I was about 21. We started TTC again in Feb but nothing yet. Although DH has been working a lot of hours so it has been difficult.

I've been thinking about this a lot too. After Sarah was born I went back on ortho tricyclen for 3 months, then I found out that my dad's family has a blood disorder that makes you more likely to develop clots. I was waiting for my blood to go back to normal and not using anything when we got pregnant again.

I'd really like an IUD, but I'm nervous with this potential clotting problem. My OBGYN thinks I'm silly, that it would have happened by now since I was on the pill so long and pregnancy is a time where you are more likely to clot, but I'm not comfortable with that rationale. I guess we'll use condoms until I can be tested.

Right now I'm on the mini-pill cause I'm breastfeeding but I'm terribly forgetful so I need to switch to something else. (I'm sooo not ready for another baby) I've heard horror stories about the shot and there aren't enough studies on the patch or ring to guarentee its safe when breastfeeding. I am gonna switch to the iud. I wish I had it done at my pp check up cause they say its easier to insert while the cervix is still soft.

We alternate between condoms and "being careful".

Right now I'm using the ring and I'm not really happy with it. Still considering switching to the IUD as soon as I run out of rings.

Right now condoms. I used to use the pill but after having my daughter I decided not to go back on it right away. And since we're planning on trying for #2 soon we decided not to go on again.

??? Going today and undecided......Asking about the pill and Nuvaring. I have never ever been on anything so this is new to me.

right now, nothing I was on the minipill till my daughter was weaned.. then went on orthotricylcen and had to stop taking that because it made me absolutely crazy, crying one second and screaming mad the next , then went on the patch, but stopped that when the news about how high the risk for blod clots was... and I hate condoms... I'm not sure what I should be using at this point! When we are SURE that we don't want a 3rd baby my DH is getting the snip-snip

The IUD was by far the best birth control I ever had. I cannot take the pill or anything like it as it makes me sooo sick and feel awful. I have a latex allergy so condoms are not really a good option, and the non-latex ones are $$$. My body rejected the IUD but that is VERY rare. I would get another one in a second. You girls should really ask your OB/GYN about them..you never have to think about birth control for years and can have it removed at any time and get pregnant again without a waiting period.

We didn't use anything I just kept track of my cycles and abstained the week I was ovulating.

Pill and I LOVE it. I have my periods for 2 days and barely any cramps.
