I always really like Florence beach in massapequa. It is really small, has a nice play ground, you don't have to walk far either.
Do you have to be a Mass resident?
No it is a TOB beach so you pay to get in.
Do I have to be a TOB resident?
I looked this up last night and it said online that it was Town residents only I think.

We go to Meschutt Beach in Hampton Bays. It's a tiny beach, you park and walk maybe 10 feet. Great snack bar, clean bathrooms, and 3-4 lifeguards for a 30 ft. stretch of sand. And it's a bay beach, so no big waves.
Love this beach - we try to go every weekend and spend the day - the kids never get bored there!!!

You have to be a resident on the weekends but during the week, non residents can go but it's expensive.
I love Centre Island in Bayville but again, another town of oyster bay beach

I really like LIDO, the parking is right there, the walk isnt too terrible to the beach, there are bathrooms, concession, playgrounds all right there.

Re: What do YOU find to be the most kid-friendly beaches around
Old post but figured I'd chime in!
We practically live at Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai. It's 10 minutes from us. They have a snack stand, playground, beach one one side, boats on the other. Nature trail and center, fishing pier. You park right along the beach so very little walk.
Only complaint is that, as well as all other north shore beaches, it's rocky.

i'd have to agree with cedar beach, the parking is sooo close and with the playground, pavillion and bathrooms right there. We live there every summer.
With 3 kids and lots of stuff to bring to the beach the shorter the walk the better for me

Re: What do YOU find to be the most kid-friendly beaches around
There is a small beach by me called Cory Beach. I think its consider either Patchogue or Bayport. It has a huge playground right near the water so its perfect if the kids want to run back and forth.
