what do you do for yourself- for fun?

whether it's going to the gym, book club, meeting once a month with friends, etc.

what do you do for yourself to get away from everyday mommy stress?! And how often do you do it?

Drinks with friends a few times a month.
Or dinner and drinks.
Just something social like that.

It's very rare that I find time to do things for myself. I think the last time was over the summer I met a friend for dinner. I really need to make more of an effort.

Mani/pedi, spa days with friends, dinners. Lately I have been taking classes at my local library which are fun.

Honestly, even running to target by myself is a big deal

dinner/drinks with girlfriends 1x per month or 6 weeks

I have a side business creating paper décor, I spend way too many hours per week in the shop designing but its "my thing"

nails/shopping etc

Ha. Friends, drinks, dinner, movies, shopping? Huh?

I get my hair done every 6 weeks. I'm gone 1.5-2 hours. That's about all that I do for myself. Even shopping I do online.

I haven't gone to dinner with my girlfriends in over a year. I keep in touch with two of them over texts. I'm kind of pathetic.

Team sports (I'm a broken record with it).

Spring/Summer: beach vball and softball

Fall/Winter: indoor vball

sports are roughly 2x/week



Also girl's night once/month

I have recently made myself get back into the gym and training.

2 evenings a week I go to a kickboxing class
1 night I work with my trainer
at least on day on the weekends I go to my reg gym to do cardio and weights.

I also never put off getting my hair done with takes hrs.

Get mani pedis at least once a month.

DH and I go out with another couple
In the summer after the kids go to sleep we get some wine or beer and sit by the pool and in the winter we watch a movie from Redbox
exercise. We have an elliptical and treadmill in the basement. I watch some old Beverly Hills shows and workout
call a friend just to vent, laugh, catchup, etc
mani/pedi
read or catch up on gossip in mags when I go for my highlights I get once every 6 weeks

Run. Or any exercise for that matter. Gym time is my biggest me time.
Girls nights at least once a month.

-Choral singing (1x a week rehearsal and 2 performances a year)
-Yoga 1x a week
-I was doing zumba 1x per week too and I loved it, but haven't gone in a few months. Planning to start again soon.

I go to work....
And sometimes when the weather isn't terrible or too cold, I go to the gym/go running.
That's about it these days.

I consider it an accomplishment if I can go to the bathroom by myself now a days.

I sit on my couch in my jammies watching Walking Dead with a cold beverage and a bowl of a snack.

I do not clean
I do not cook
I do not answer my phone
I do not do anything I don't want to
I won't drive
no shopping

Just a lump on a log kind of day... LOOOVE it! I get one every 3m or so. LOL

Other than that, a good massage once a year.

And once I replace my broken connector.. Play Beatles Rock Band as often as I can! :D

Daily Me time: driving to or from home singing (currently xmas songs) at the top of my voice. Beatles mostly

I'm a SAHM with no family in the area to help out... so "me time" is pretty rare!
But time at night after DS is in bed is great... just vegging, watching TV, surfing online, flipping through a magazine.
And recently, DH and I started doing where 1 night a week we each go out with friends. So usually on Thursdays I go out with a girlfriend or 2 for dinner or drinks or coffee. or if nobody is around to go out, i'll just go walk around Target by myself. And then Wednesdays is DHs day to go grab a beer with a few of his friends.
I've been wanting to look at classes at a community college or library, but its tough to work out babysitting with DHs work schedule and no family in the area to take DS for free LOL
