What do you decorators think of this?
This is the upholstery i found yesterday that i liked... ive gotten some snide remarks on it  this is the room. the chairs i want to cover and the colors i want to use are yellow gray and white. (i like the orange as a splash of color) BUT im not set on this i think i can still find something i like better

Ok so the dining room set you got from your grandma you are going to be putting in the blue dining room right? (Making sure I have this all straight lol.)
I like the pattern, but I dont know if I would like it in the blue dining room. Are you going to be painting?

yes thats just the room... WE WILL BE PAINTING!!!! using the colors yellow and gray!

see im obsessed with Damask pattern and id LOVE to find something along those lines for the upholstery. so im on the hunt... now that ive been doing some searching i dont care for the fabric i posted   i swear i change my mind like i change my underwear!

I love Damask too. I would try the Fabric Mill. I'm sure you would find something there you love. The material you posted just wouldn't fit with the room....IMO!

thats how i feel! see i have these visions. and i know what i WANT its just so hard for me to put it into play! it always seems to get lost in translation

from what you are saying I think you are going for a room that is more modern, but probably in between - Transitional.

Oh ok gotcha. BTW I LOOOOOVVVEEE damask too! are you looking for a damask in yellows and oranges too?

thank you ladies so much.. yes im hoping for more modern. im very open to colors for accent.. but the main colors will be gray and yellows.. i looked through your albums and found a few things.. (hope they post.)
The first pic is a decal for the wall.. i REALLLLLY wanted this in the living room but i cant out that over paneling.. so it will maybe go in the dining room.
i love the greys in the first 2 and the mixture of them in the 3rd Image Attachment(s):

my thought is this. paint the chair rail and base molding white & I think the window molding is wood too, so paint that white. paint the bottom half either white or a very pale creamy yellow (a yellow that has beige in it). Then paint the top a gray color you like. I would do a light to medium tone grey to keep the room light enough.

is that mod-70s fabric going on those chairs? it reminds me of outdoor furniture fabric.
have you gone to like equilter.com or fabric.com? many fabrics come in the grey/ yellows now.

I don't think it goes, I think you should stick with a neutral because this is a set you will prob have for a long time, and you may get sick off the color and want to change it again.
