Re: what do you consider to be expensive for....
I will spend good money for a good pair of shoes. I don't bat an eye at $100 flats or $300 boots if they are good quality and comfy.
Not the same for bags. I am not a bag person at all. I have a beautiful Kate Spade bag and rarely use it. Same for my Coach and Burberry. I love my LeSport Sac and Target bags better! $50 max for a bag (all my designer ones have been gifts).

Re: what do you consider to be expensive for....
I never used to spend more than $30 on shoes. Payless was my go-to, and it showed! The shoes were scraped up and peeling within weeks.
I don't spend a ton more, but I'll pay $50-$60 for a pair of leather shoes now. I have black leather flats that are a year old and are perfectly broken in but not worn down at all.
I just spent $74 on a pair of flats, I think that's the most I have ever paid, but from what I read they will be worth it.
I have paid $120 for boots in the past but I feel like that's a bit different.
When it comes to bags, I will pay $100-$150 at the Coach outlet, maybe once a year or once every 2 years. I don't need a lot of bags and the ones I have last me forever.
I've also started spending more for really good makeup and I can totally tell the difference.
ETA: If I liked the look of bags from Gucci and LV I would save up for them, but they are not my taste. Luckily Coach has outlets - and I know LV does not

Re: what do you consider to be expensive for....
When I was younger, single, and newly making money, I spent way too much on shoes, bags, and clothes in general. DH was horrified when he met me and learned how much I spent on those things.
I've completely changed my view since settling down and having kids. I still love clothes, shoes, bags, etc, but they can look just as pretty and not be a name brand to me now. So, for shoes, work shoes/dress shoes, I typically spend about $60-$85 for nice, comfortable shoes. Sandals, I try to keep at $50 and under. I love nice boots, so once a year or every other year, I will buy a nice pair of boots for between $100 and $200.
Bags--less than $100 for sure now.
I also used to spend $$$$ on sunglasses. They can still be a slight weakness because I do find the more expensive ones are more comfortable, and I hate the feel of glasses of any kind. (I wear contacts, and DH often asks me to wear my glasses, and I just can't for more than an hour or so. I find them incredibly uncomfortable. same for sunglasses.) I've cut back from crazy expensive glasses and usually by on overstock for about $100 now. But last year I did find a semi-comfortable pair at target for about $15. :)

Re: what do you consider to be expensive for....
I consider 2000 or more expensive for a bag
Shoes I consider 700 or more expensive.
I do like to get some deals at the outlets on shoes if they have my size, or if a shoe is on sale that i happen to like I will get it for sure.

Re: what do you consider to be expensive for....
I don't buy shoes that cost more than $50
Handbags and wallets I will spend a little extra for a good quality one that lasts.

I'm pretty cheap when it comes to buying apparel. The only shoes I can remember spending more than $30 on are my running sneakers, because I'm very picky with those. Bags, forget it, I don't think I've spent more than $30 on one ever.... I have a ton of different ones though & I switch out my bag almost every day. I'd get bored with it if I used the same one every day.
Ditto. My running smeakers are over a hundred but my heels are sooooo not!
