cake and pizza with the family. We didn't want to spend money for a huge party. And we only do parties for him every few years.

We did it at my sisters yacht club. Just family, but both of our families are big. Last year and this year will be small. Immediate family only

Did it at a restaurant with family and friends (his and mine). Got a lot of ideas from Pinterest. We ended up doing a Cat in the Hat theme.

What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
We did a party at my mom's house (Our house isn't big enough to host a party) for each of our 3 kids for their first. It was low-key, just food and cake.

Re: What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
at home (well actually my parents house they have a better layout). It wasn't big at all. but I did splurge on their bday cakes. I think I got pizza and ordered a chicken finger tray from zorns. only 'big" party was for communion.
and every bday after that is a kids bday party which I do have outside my home.

Re: What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
for my DS (6 years ago) we had 100 people at the firehouse.
My DD is turning 1 in March. We're doing family only (30 people) at International Delight in Bellmore.
Sorry kid

I think I'm leaning towards keeping it very small. Our house can not accommodate many people and I don't want to spend a lot and have 100 people at a restaurant. Perhaps grandparents and uncles/aunts/cousins and god parents only.

Re: What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
For DS we had it at a restauarant. DD will be 1 at the end of June and we plan on going away the week of her birthday so we will probably just have cake with immediate family, no party.

Re: What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
We rented out local town's recreation center, invited all family and friends (about 60-70 people) had food catered and hired entertainment (Mickey & Minnie Mouse). We did the same thing for both kids.
I recommend Legendary Entertainment if you are looking for some kind of entertainment for the party. They were incredible kept the attention of all the kids for an hour & half.

What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
Dd gets a house party every year. Her parties are actually getting bigger every year rather then smaller. Age 1 - 30 people, age 3 - 60 people. But its in my backyard and we do barbecue and heroes.
For.her 5th I said I want a petting zoo in the front yard with a Pony. I told Dh this is what you get when you only have 1 kid. He wants a person to do balloons. Lol.
We both LOVE to entertain though and don't blink about having a bunch of people over.

What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
I did a big party at a restaurant for both. I loved planning all of the details, menu, centerpieces, favors, entertainment, everything. I was able to sit back and enjoy both parties and go home without cleaning up. All I do is clean, lol. I was able to do it without breaking the bank, and it's a once in a lifetime event. I won't have a party again until they start to go to school and want a birthday party so I'm good for a few years lol

Re: What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
Our home isn't set up for entertaining. My parents are out of state and we didn't want to bother DH's parents. For DD1 we went to a restaurant and did open bar, heavy apps, and sandwiches around "brunch time". There were cupcakes, lots of balloons, custom invites/thank you and we showcased her cake smash photos all over. It was basically a pretty party honoring DD1 but planned for adults. Aside from a couple infants there were only 3 kids there.
DD2 was born 3 days before DD1 turned 2. When they turned 1 and 3 we did a joint bday party for them at the aquarium. It was much more focused on kids and the only planning/decor I had to worry about was favors. Everything else was handled by the aquarium. This party was less expensive, had about half the amount of people, but definitely more "fun" because the kids who came were older and needed to be kept busy and entertained.

Dinner and cake with family. We didn't want to go crazy for something he wasn't going to remember. Plus, we were all just getting over one of the many colds we get from typhoid Ethan as we affectionately call our DS.

Re: What did you do your LO's 1st Bday?
We are having a brunch out since our families are too large to host inside our house. Had she been a summer baby, we would have done a backyard party.
