what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I am such a neat freak that the exhaustion that came with my 1st tri has made my house less than usually clean
I let DH do the bathroom now since those chemicals have always irritated me
I am still doing laundry, vaccumming, dusting, cleaning the kitchen countertops, weed whacking and organizing. My friend told me I should do ANY vaccumming because of the vibrations, no moving furniture to clean or anything else heavy duty. I can't sit still and let my house go to shambles for 6 more months!!
What have you all been told about chores?

Right now, since I am totally and utterly exhausted almost 24/7, DH has been doing the majority of the housework. I straighten up, and do the laundry.....maybe unload the dishwasher, that's all. He's being really good about it!

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
def. dont lift furniture! I think ur not supposed to lift more than 20 lbs? something like that. I've been doing everything that I normally did, but I changed to "green" products, that apparently dont have chemicals, and are eco friendly. They actually smell great! ... And DH does laundry, but he always has!

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
well first off... i think you should ask your doctor.
Personally i hated that "you shouldn't" stuff!
Heck I was moving around boxes with my hubby up until about 6months
I was up and down a chair painting trim in the room, etc.
I didnt really stop doing anything until my body said "STOP" then I slowed down.
If I got up and something pulled or pinched i just gave up right there and then and hubby took over.
He knew i hated being told I can't do something and I can't just SIT there and do nothing.. so he never once said too me "no" or "should you be doing..." he just watched me and never said a word when I said "well that's it for me"
with 3 weeks left I can't even bend over any more, but I can still push a vacuum. VIBRATIONS?? please.. what about being in a car or LIRR? whatever
I still pick up and dust, etc just as long as I can reach it. I hate nasty chemicals so I don't use them.. never have. I always use stuff I can tolerate even before preggo.
The only no-no is the kitty box which I never did before anyway.
So that's my $.02

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I would definitely ask the dr.
I am pretty lucky because my sisters clean for me every other week (deal because I pay for their cell phones)
Dh does the laundry and brings it up, I put it away.
I do not lift anything. my mom and dh do not care what the dr says, I am not allowed to lift anything.
So, I put away the laundry, and do the toilets and sinks on odd weeks.
I cleaned the windows last week for the blockparty and the tub. I just make sure not to over do it.
I helped dh pull out a tree stump 2 weeks ago and i'm still not hearing the end of it cause I pulled on the stump and used a shovel. I learned my lesson, I was exhausted for the rest of the day.
Jen, you know your limits. Just dont stretch them!

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I'm 21 weeks and pretty much still do everything I did pre-PG. IN genreal I just take breaks more often, it doesn't all have to be at once.
My household chores are:
-Cleaning the bathrooms/kitchen (we use natural products w/o harsh chemicals) -Sweeping, dust mop (we have no carpets, so I'm not sure about the vacuum thing) -Laundry - although DH brings the baskets upstairs for me now - I still bring them downstairs. -cooking -grocery shopping
Things I have changed: -weeding - I take breaks way more often and try to squat or get down on my knees more, it's just really uncomfortable to bend over - I take more trips to bring the grocery bags in - this is mostly because of DH, he freaks out if he sees me come in carrying 10 grocery bags
DH takes care of: kitty litter lawn cars garbage gardens all of the never ending household repairs
Oh one other change - when DH is working on the house he makes me leave; we have a 110 y/o house so when he is working on renovations I have to leave because we don't know what could be in the dust/debris

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I don't do anything crazy because we have a cleaning lady. But in between I clean the bathrooms and vacuum and mop the floors.
I am not worried about chemicals because I have been green since my last PG.

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I do the same as I did before. I open the bathroom window if the fumes seem too much for me. I think I overdo it sometimes but I am a neat freak and have to do a top to bottom clean at least once a week. I am lucky DH picks up after himself and spot cleans and does the laundry when he sees it getting high.

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
before I got pregnant and now is about the same!
DH has always cleaned the bathroom and bedroom, and vacuumed. I have always cleaned the kitchen and living/dining areas. My areas have much less chemicals than the bathroom (I use mainly method products).
DH has taken over from me the laundry and occassional chores that require heavy labor (steam cleaning, remounting curtain rods....) but that is it.
his main new role in these last several weeks of pregnancy are getting me things so I don't have to get off of the couch or bed...
the whale has officially beached!

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I've been doing everything, although DH will do some cleaning while I'm at work, he definitely helps alot more now. I just am extra careful with the chemicals and wash my hands thoroughly. I switched over to vinegar for a lot of things and stay away from bleech and amonia. The 1st trimester I was too sick to really do much when I got home from work but I'm way past that and back to my old self cleaning all the time.

What's a chore?
I think it is something along the lines of cleaning, picking up, organizing....
I put some laundry that was laying around in the hamper. Maybe that counts? Today I plan to sweep a little in the kitchen, I dropped some crumbs of the cake I was eating this morning. I don't want to step on it by accident and get my feet dirty.

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I'm at 29 weeks, and the only thing my husband does is the shower and vaccum the stairs, otherwise I take care of it all. It takes me a little longer than before lol but I am still at it!

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I've done everything that I normally do when it comes to cleaning both when I got pregnant up until now at 34 weeks. The only difference now is it takes me longer and I get tired more easily. I never heard you can't vacuum........that just sounds ridiculous in my opinion. I just try and take it easy but things still need to get done so I do them just with a little more time and help these days.

I've been doing laundry, but have DH carry the basket up and down the stairs. I also clean the kitchen and do dusting... other than that, DH has has been great about cleaning.

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
I don't lift anything heavy. I still do laundry and wash dishes. I usually have DH clean the bathrooms now b/c they're not well ventilated. I don't clean as often as I should , but when I do, I use organic cleaners and gloves.

Same here. I carry my vacuum up and down stairs and do all the other things I did before I was not preggo. First pregnancy I had a cleaning lady, this one I am on my own

Re: what cleaning/ chores do you do?
We have a cleaning lady 2x per month. It is the one thing that we spluge on b/c we both work such long hours, and I can't deal with spending a whole Satruday cleaning. In between, I do everything except the bathroom. DH does that and does a great job with it. I'm perfectly happy with this arrangement as I have an aversion to toilets.
