What brand for a infant car seat?
and did you register for an infant car seat AND a car seat for when the baby out grows the other one?

i regisered for the infant one only.. i figured when they grow out of it we will just buy the other one when needed.
i got the Graco Snugride basically for the snap and go stroller. they fit best with them!

Infant Car seat we registered for the Graco Infant Snugride 32 with the coordinating snap and go.
For the convertible car seat we registred for two:
My car - Britax Advocate
For DH car - Britax Marathon
and
as far as stroller the City Mini jogger

I registered for both and for the infant one I got a Chicco Keyfit 30 and a Britax for the second one

I registered for both. I do NOT recommend the peg perego infant car seat. It is horrifically heavy and my DD who was not a huge baby at all outgrew it by 5 months. It was really uncomfy for her. Stay away!

Totally agree with the other ladies about the Britax convertible carseats. We have the Britax Decathlon and the Britax Marathon and love both.

I just got this one, and wonder what model you are talking about, because it doesn't seem any heavier to me than the graco and its rated to 30 lbs.
The one I got is the Ppeg perego viaggio

We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 for DD and will be passing that along to DS when he arrives. We LOVE it!
We just bought the Recaro Signa convertible seat for DD to move into. Waiting now to get it in the mail.
I would definitely register for both now if you know what you want.

We registered for the Graco Snugride infant seat and then the Britax Boulevard for the convertible. Even if we don't get the convertible, we may be able to get it with a completion discount.

Storage.
I can't be storing stuff that the baby won't be using right away. That includes a high chair and a stroller OTHER than the snap n go.
I'm only registering for the infant seat and the snap n go.
We'll buy the other one when ready.

Crashing. . .I registered for both. I am thankful that I received both at my shower. It was the best thing b/c when it came time for my boys to go into convert. carseats I didn't have the extra money to buy 2 since I was not working. I would register. If you get them great, if not then you didn't plan on getting them anyway. KWIM
ETA: I had the graco snugride infant seats and the Myride 65 convert. seats

when i registered for my first baby i registered for an infant seat and 2 convertible seats. i have a huge family so i knew i had to register for lots of things...
I had gotten the peg perego seat for DS and while i loved it, i found it very heavy. I am getting new ones now bc I want my twins to have the same one. I looked on consumerreports.org and the Chicco KeyFit got the highest ratings so I will probably go with that one.

i only registered for the infant car seats, i am having twins and don't have room to store 2 extra car seats
we registered for Peg Perego Primo viaggio SIP 30/30
a few friends recommended it and when i picked it up in the store it didn't feel much heavier than the graco and we felt it was cushier and more protective of the baby
