I used to go to Long Beach, when my DH lived down there.
Now we are on the north shore, and any beach is a drive. We do go to the tiny beach at the Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay or to Ransom, Stehli or Centre Island Beach in Bayville.

I used to go to Robert Moses when I lived in Suffolk.
Now I go to Jones Beach by the Theater side.

Usually Gilgo b/c DH surfs, but since we don't live in the Town of Babylon we usually have to leave by 11am. We used to have someone that would give us a pass if we paid them, but that person moved!

I prefer the pool- I have always picked apartment buildings with pools
my DH doesn't like to lay out- so it's nice to just go downstairs and have the pool there

"beach one", its the biggest beach on our private lake. Its about 600ft from my house
I also like the little wading river beach & the jamesport beach both on the LI sound. I'm a north shore gal & I'm afraid of undertows so I like the sound beaches better. Since we live here with the lake we really don't go anywhere else.

We put a big pool in the yard for the kids a couple of years ago, so we rarely go to the beach anymore.
